Hello,

I started to replace the water pump in the Passat b5 1.8 ADR 1996. everything went my way until I noticed that the pump screws fall under the AUX wheel on the timing gear. As I have never taken my camshaft apart, I have a question:
what is this wheel for and can I unscrew it safely after locking CA and CS?
maybe there is a "trick" not to move the timing?
