Hello, this is my first post, so please be understanding if there is something wrong. Or in the wrong place :)

I bought a samsung EVO 960 250gb for a m.2 socket, because my current kingston 120gb ssd is already too small.

Samsung wants win10 x64 and I have a problem with the motherboard, unfortunately I am not sure where the error is. After installing the system and rebooting to complete the installation of windows, samsung will not boot. Either it turns back on bios where there is no Samsung visible as boot or crashes that I have to set the boot disk in the bios and so on. Samsung works only as a normal disk and not as a system one.

I formatted samsung from gpt partition system to mbr so that it can be uploaded to it (windows 10 x64 latest build from June 2017) and here the stairs with uefi settings begin, which on millions of pages describe what and how to do for m.2 drives , but unfortunately everyone has a different motherboard (read from another manufacturer) mine is gigabyte z170 k3 gaming (compatible with m.2 and nvme) so compatible, but I had to combine different settings. At YT, everything goes perfect and they have no problems. they even suggest unplugging all SATA but it also doesn't work.
There is also a million versions about what program to make a flash drive booting from win 10 but most have tested and nothing works (read: the same effect does not boot from a samsung disk). after 6 hours of struggling with various options, I only have a headache ... and I don't even know which method I tested and which not ...; /

It would be nice if someone had a larger idea on this topic, because the Internet is quite poorly described. Some have it, others don't. At the moment I am willing to return it because I did not expect something like this ... Samsung does not boot after installing windows.

    Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 15063) (15063.rs2_release.170317-1834)
System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
    System Model: Z170-Gaming K3
    BIOS: F22
    Processor: Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz (8 CPUs), ~ 4.0GHz
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Gigabyte gaming G1
    Memory: Corssair Venegance 3200 16GB
    SSD: Samsung 960 EVO 250gb m.2 nvme

Thanks for all the help and sorry for the mistakes :)

For what purpose? It has nothing to do with it. Change back to GPT.

The latest is 1709 / Fall Creators Update ... where does a colleague have a system image?

The official! https://www.microsoft.com/pl-pl/software-download/windows10, Download the tool. It will actually download the latest image and make it a flash drive.

    BIOS Features tab:
    - Windows 8/10 Features: Windows 8/10
    - Fast Boot: leave it on disabled during installation
    - CSM Support: Disabled

    Peripherals tab:
    - OffBoard SATA Controller Configuration "Displays information on your M.2 PCIe SSD if installed"
Show what you have available here, it looks like M.2 was operated by a separate controller.

    - Sata configuration
thus this should not affect the M.2 settings, but to be sure:
    - SATA Mode Selection: AHCI
    - Port 0/1/2/3/4/5: Enabled

After restart during installation, enter EFI, tab BIOS Features, Boot Option Priorities - switch to Windows Boot Manager.

And that's right, because in UEFI mode you should choose the boot program and not the hard disk.

consists of, among others on the fact that this is a relatively new and underdeveloped technology. Somewhere in the forum I have something with problems, if not with M.2 booting, then at speed.
I am not sure if you will be able to use this invention as you wanted.
And don't take it personally if something goes wrong, because it could be completely not your fault or lack of knowledge.

For me it could be completely disconnected from SATA.
Entries in NVRAM could be verified, but I am still "leg" in these new ESP / UEFI technologies. What I had on UEFI was broken ...; P

    Thanks for the answer.
Somewhere I read that someone did so and changed zgpt to mbr, I returned to gpt. I downloaded the latest windows 10 x64 through the program from the link you provided and created a new pen drive.

In bios, I changed everything as you said. I switched to "windows 8/10 features" because I only had the same 8/10 WHQL.
I set CSM Support to disabled

Sata all ports are on enabled and "sata mode selection" on AHCI

Well, in the tab peripherals "off board sata controller configuration" is empty. Namely "No PCie sata controllers / PCie ssds are present" and this is probably not good at what I know.

In the same tab peripherals I have "NVMe configuration" after entering says:

    Bus: 9 Dev: 0 Func: 0 Samsung ssd 960 EVO 250GB
    Nvme size 250gb

    There is nothing more there.

As you have already noticed, this is an NVMe disk, not a SATA disk. OK.
After installing from a fresh USB stick, the Windows entry appears in Boot Option Priorities?

After installation and restart, recovery starts. Message: the application or operating system could not be loaded due to a lack of ..
    File: \ Windows \ System32 \ winload.efi
    error code: 0x000000e

the only boot option that appears in the bios after restart is: from the old ssd disk (windows boot manager) 120 kingston, and a pendrive from the installer. And with Sata disks enabled.

    can turn them off completely?

    Added after 30 [minutes]:

I turned off sata for installation to check, the only effect is the lack of any boot option after rebooting in the bios.
I don't know if this information is helpful, but you can't see the samsung disk at all. It's empty.
After enabling sata, I return to the initial situation, i.e. I can boot only the old disk and samsung is visible only as a disk without booting.
