    Good morning,

I am looking for a diagram or tips on how to make / design a car protection in such a way that we disconnect / reconnect the ignition using a switch. In addition, I would like this switch to work only in appropriate conditions, e.g. left mirror control turned on or handbrake applied, etc. If this pre-condition (or conditions) is not met, the switch should not turn the ignition on, but it should be turned off. In addition, the whole should have such a thing as the service mode, in which we switch when we leave the car at the mechanic or on the car wash so as not to reveal our secret combination.

Does anyone have any idea on this? Thank you in advance for your tips.

You can make a circuit at some uC, then almost anything can be done :P

Four-input AND gate, several small 5V stabilizers, possibly NOT if you want to detect a lack of voltage and noise. Just first check if you have 12V or, for example, a data bus in places where you want to connect. And do it so that you do not have to ride a tow truck :) .

    Hello,

If you do such protection "from scratch" then do not forget about the possibility of enabling the service mode, i.e. the possibility of permanently deactivating the protection. Because why do you need such a combined protection, if every time you leave the car in the service, at the mechanic or in the car wash you will have to inform about how to deactivate the protection so that you can start the car. If you have the service mode, then you activate it and you will not have to disclose the existence of security to anyone.

    Best regards.

You can always add a "bypass" in some hard-to-reach place.

Yes, good protection but only on cars with a "classic" electrical installation design.
I can't imagine fitting this lock in a new BMW, Audi or Mercedes?

Seemingly obvious, and I didn't think of it. Thank you very much for the tip :)

    Best regards!

An interesting solution, thanks to Norbert for the tip! If you want it will be installed in every car.

What exactly is the installation Proksima Cockpit Lock. I mean these two additional cables for setting the code. I would like to mount it in A4 B7 or give advice for any switches.

In this car model 2004 - 2008 you will already have problems by mounting this type of lock. It is not as simple and obvious as in "Matiza".
Also pay attention to how much the descriptions (pictograms) of switches (e.g. light switch or window opening buttons) are worn in some heavily used cars.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around designing an ignition cut-off switch for vehicles that operates under specific pre-conditions, such as the left mirror control being activated or the handbrake being applied. Participants suggest using a microcontroller (uC) for circuit design, incorporating a four-input AND gate, and ensuring the system can detect voltage levels. A service mode is emphasized to allow temporary deactivation of the ignition protection without disclosing the secret combination to mechanics or car wash staff. Ready-made solutions like the Proxima cockpit lock are mentioned, although concerns are raised about compatibility with modern vehicles like BMW, Audi, and Mercedes. Installation challenges for specific models, such as the Audi A4 B7, are also discussed.
