    I warmly welcome
My problem is that I don't have sound from Cyfrowy Polsat connected to the Pioneer Receiver. The connection diagram looks like this:

Polsat HD7000 Digital Decoder ------ HDMI Cable ------- Pioneer VSX-930 Receiver ----- HDMI Cable ------ TV Samsung UE55MU7042

With this connection, there is no sound in the receiver. With the previous TV (Also Samsung) everything was ok!
I also have Pioneer BluRay connected to the receiver and the sound is normal.

When I unplug the cable connecting the Receiver and TV, the sound of Cyfrowy Polsat appears normally in the speakers ... When you plug the cable back into the TV, the sound disappears ... This happens on all four HDMI inputs on the TV. All HDMI-CEC and ARC options are off !!

I am asking for help because I have no idea ...

I know I can use the optical output on the TV but this is the last resort. I would like it to work like on the previous TV.
    Regards

Polsat decoder doesn't have any HDMI-CEC settings?

Polsat decoder has HDMI-CEC setting but I have it turned off. It worked like that with the previous TV. Changing to "On" also doesn't do anything ...

Pioneer has only one optical input so I won't hook up Polsat because I have TV sound connected (Youtube, terrestrial tv, USB playback). That is why I wanted to have all devices connected to the Receiver as HDMI as before, and from the Receiver with one decent HDMI cable to the TV. As I wrote with BluRay, there is no problem and Polsat is ...

It also has a coaxial digital audio input - Coax.
You can consider using a converter - optical to "electrical" signal for this input.
    As everything else fails.

That's right, it's a solution. It does not change the fact that we still have no answer why there is no sound via HDMI ... I searched the internet and this problem appears, unfortunately I did not find an answer to its solution ... It usually ends with the use of an optical cable. Strange, because it worked before. Something is obviously "biting", because when I take out the HDMI cable from the TV (The one between the Receiver and TV) is the sound on the speakers connected to the Receiver after a second appears. Re-inserting HDMI to the TV after a second turns off the sound ...

Maybe someone once solved this problem ...?

Is there any change in the amplifier's display after this operation?

Maybe a friend put pictures (clear) of the display before and after disconnecting the HDMI cable from the TV?
Polsat decoder must be turned on :) )

And one more thing - by "fading sound" colleague means that it does not sound at all from the decoder - amplifier and TV - or does it disappear in the amplifier and moves to the TV?

The sound disappears completely. As long as Polsat Decoder is connected to the Receiver, the sound is normal. After connecting the receiver to the TV, the sound disappears. And interestingly, even if the TV is off, there is no sound either. The same BluRay player is working normally and the sound is on!

    Added after 17 [minutes]:

One picture shows the receiver's display after connecting the HDMI cable to the TV, the other after removing the cable from the TV.

After removing the cable, the PCM icon appears and the symbols L and R, i.e. it recognizes two speakers, because Polsat usually broadcasts in 2.0
Re-connecting the HDMI cable to the TV causes PCM, L and R to disappear in the loudspeakers.

Well, something is already known ...

Please check in order as I wrote below:
    - check audio settings in the decoder and change to Dolby or Auto - just PCM!
    - having the situation that the sound has disappeared, enter the Audio settings of the amplifier and check the HDMI (HDMI Audio) parameter.
It should have been set to "AMP". You can also change them to the opposite and go back to "AMP"
    - could a friend do a test by connecting Polsat's decoder to a socket that uses BR?

And so off the beaten track ...

A friend is sure that HDMI Control is turned off? From what I read in the manual, the "S.RTRV Sound" function (shown in the picture) can work when HDMI Control is active.

Also, something here does not match the colleague's "testimony" :) ))

After disabling these functions, did a colleague do something quite prosaic, such as disconnecting all equipment from the power supply for a few minutes?
After changing the HDMI settings, this procedure is recommended.

So yes: in the decoder sound output - HDMI, Auto mode, HDMI-CEC off
In the Receiver, I do not have the option of HDMI Audio settings, HDMI Control function disabled
    HDMI-CEC off in TV ...

I unplugged the equipment for a few minutes ... no changes, unfortunately

Connecting to another HDMI IN socket on the receiver (including BR) - the same effect - no sound

I am slowly running out of strength ... :-) We wanted to exchange TV for newer and bigger ones :-) And on the previous one everything was flashing beautifully as I wanted ...

    Hmm ...
    PiotrMikler wrote:

I enclose the manual of this receiver - please look at page 86.

I am already starting to run out of ideas, but I would like to check one thing.
Can a colleague connect the decoder to the TV directly for testing purposes?
I am interested in whether the sound will be heard in the TV speakers.

And privately, I'm not convinced that all HDMI-CEC controls have been turned off.
If unplugging the HDMI cable from the TV results in immediate reaction of the amplifier, then something must be enabled in the HDMI settings.

    welcome back

First of all, I want to thank my colleague for your interest in the topic :-)

In fact, in the Audio options of the Receiver this is the HDMI setting you are writing about and is set to AMP.

Polsat decoder connected directly to the TV with an HDMI cable obviously produces normal sound. Except that I meant to get rid of this one cable ... Besides, when I connect the Decoder directly to the TV and the sound to the Receiver with an optical cable from the TV, it is first of all quieter than from the Decoder connected directly to the Receiver, and the second is the sound more "flat" less dynamic. That's why I care so that the Decoder was plugged into the Receiver ...

Added after 1 [hours] 12 [minutes]:

On page 85 of the manual there is also the SIGSEL (Signal Select) option in the audio settings of the Receiver. It was set to Auto, but even if I "force" the HDMI settings, there is no sound ... As I gave on Digital, this is sound through Coax. I just brought the Optical-Coax converter and it works. Extra cables, power supply but works, and the sound is better than with Optical on the TV.

As for HDMI, I fell ... I tested all the possibilities and configurations, in turn I turned on and off HDMI-CEC in each of the three devices and nothing .... Massacre.

But I am still waiting for my friend's help, maybe some idea will be born ... ;-)

Well, I'm already exhausted of ideas :( ((

Just out of curiosity - are there any obstacles to using ARC?

    In this case, the connections:

    - optical from TV to amplifier
    - decoder with amplifier via converter

    are unnecessary.

At this moment I gave up :-)

    It stayed like this:

    Receiver ------ HDMI ----- TV
Polsat decoder ---- HDMI (Picture) and Optical to Coaxial (Sound) ----- Receiver
BR player ----- HDMI ----- Receiver

So let's say how it was supposed to be ...

And then Optical from TV to the Receiver to listen to YouTube and DVB-T

Thank you for your help, but I'm not closing the topic yet :-) (Maybe some idea will come up) :-)

I had the same problem. I additionally had an artifact of the type: I turn on the hd5000 decoder on the channel e.g. 1 + ampli vsx-s520 on the TV appears the image from channel No. 1. Then I switch to channel No. 5 and then on TV I have the image from channel No. 1 and the sound from ampli from channel 5. After a while, the picture on the TV is lost and the info is displayed. "No signal. In addition, all the problems you describe. I fought this month. I returned to the site. They exchanged for another and everything is ok

For me, the problem disappeared after ...... exchanging the Polsat decoder! There is no problem on the new EvoBox decoder! Everything works as it should! :-)

I think wtv should be on arc. I also have no sound, if I turn off the arc.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a sound issue experienced with a Cyfrowy Polsat HD7000 digital decoder connected to a Pioneer VSX-930 receiver and a Samsung UE55MU7042 TV.
