A few days ago I connected TomTom to my PC and tried to update content using MyDrive Connect.
I was unsuccessful in updating the map of Europe. After completion, the map had a damaged status, and the device only displayed the message: "No maps available. Reinstall your map or go to the TomTom store and buy a new one." After pressing OK. Nothing happens.

I found a description of a similar problem in the forum and tried to reset the device and delete MyDrive Connect pace, but subsequent attempts to repair the map were also unsuccessful. Today I decided to remove the damaged map and reinstall it. It turns out that the map in version 10.0 has a little over 7 GB, and on my device even after deleting everything that can be deleted there is only 5.4 free. Now, surprisingly, Connect validation works and tells me that there is no room for any of the available versions.

TomTom's tip is to buy an SD card. I bought it, put it in the device. The device cannot see the card because you need to format it first on the device.

And now I'm in an enchanted circle: I can't install the map because there is no card - I can't add the card because there is no map.

Does anyone have any idea how you can work around this problem?

I formatted diskpart, but it didn't help.
It looks like the device has not installed the card. You can see it in the debug screen, but not in MyConnect.

I looked. I did the support topics before I got a question on the electrode.
My device is after 2013. I should enter the menu, then settings, etc. But without loading the map you can not enter the menu.

I am still waiting for a response from TomTom support.

Try a different copy of the card, e.g. from a different company.

    Problem solved by TomTom Support.
They crawled me through all the points indicated by "on-line support".
After four unsuccessful attempts, they finally gave me the Map of Poland, which has 212 MB.
After loading this map, I could launch the menu and format the card in the device.
Then I downloaded and uploaded my maps without any problems.

    Curiosity:
    - when formatting in the device, you have to choose whether you want to use the card to save maps and voices, or to save routes
    - during formatting you need to have a device not attached to the computer - I have a weak battery when charging via USB and after the format the device did not want to rise; format after plugging in the charger went the first time

@ Freddy- thanks for your help :)

Topic summary

The user experienced issues updating the TomTom GO 50 device with the Europe map version 10.0, resulting in a "damaged status" and a "No maps available" error. Despite attempts to reset the device and delete MyDrive Connect, the update failed due to insufficient map space (only 5.4 GB available). TomTom support recommended purchasing an SD card, but the device did not recognize it initially. After formatting the SD card and receiving a smaller map of Poland from support, the user was able to access the menu, format the card within the device, and successfully download the desired maps.
