    Good morning!
I started the topic because I didn't find the right answer.

I would like to learn how to connect terrestrial TV to a laptop. I have MSI GP60. In the room I have a socket for receiving terrestrial TV (antenna next to the house). So I don't need a laptop antenna. So how do you connect it? Need to buy some TV cards? Can I use a decoder from tv: Ferguson ariva t65?

There is an HDMI input, I don't know if it is possible. I just came up with the idea of TV in my laptop.

    Hello

Certainly not exit HDMI input on a laptop.

You need a TV card with DVB-T to USB.

    greetings

    Edit: typo corrected

If the antenna is well positioned and is receiving something, it is enough to connect the TV card to the USB, install the drivers and the program that will handle it, find the channels and you can watch.

There is no philosophy here because the channels are not scrambled.

Dovra, thanks. It certainly works, two televisions are already connected to this antenna. Is there any device up to PLN 50 worth attention?

I used to use Not Only TV, but that's before the digital age.
It had a quite extensive player and allowed to record from other devices, e.g. an analog camera or a VHS player.

Now I can see that it costs a little more than PLN 50.

    I don't have much experience with DVB-T, so I won't give you a tip.

There is definitely no HDMI output on the laptop.

Where did you get this information from, because it's total nonsense?
There is only an HDMI output, not an input.

Sorry, typo, obviously the thing was that the laptop has no input. Thanks for paying attention.

You must be aware that all these USB tuners have brick sensitivity - it may turn out that the tuner will find nothing.

Of course, but not for a laptop.

Topic summary

To connect terrestrial TV to an MSI GP60 laptop, a USB TV card with DVB-T capability is required, as laptops do not have HDMI input. Users can connect the TV card to the USB port, install the necessary drivers and software, and then scan for channels. The Ferguson Ariva T65 decoder is not directly applicable for this setup. While some USB tuners may have sensitivity issues, they can still function if the antenna is properly positioned. A budget of around PLN 50 may limit options, but users have previously utilized devices like Not Only TV, although they may exceed this price range.
