Hello, I have an Hp dv1080 laptop with a gf 9600 gt and I would like to connect a digital decoder to it. Do I need to download any playback software?
I changed the system and maybe I do not have all the graphics drivers because when I connect the decoder, the laptop does not show that it detects the new device.
Advice if you have any ideas

I think you combine the exit with the exit.

    Nonsense.
The HDMI socket on a laptop is only used to output a signal to eg a TV

What did I write? Output with output. Is it not?

We connect the exit with the entrance.
Going out and out ... pointless.
Returning to the topic, as the decoder has scart output, it should be used Grabber

What is a digital set-top box in this case, Cyfra +, Polsat? It only has a way out. Well, our colleague linked the exit with the exit. I know that it makes no sense, quite obviously, from my post.

So if there is only an Output in the HDMI tab, then I must have a TV card to connect the decoder?
This HdMI socket will not be of any use to me in this case?
    Thanks for the quick reply

You can connect a TV or monitor to this socket, just like to this decoder ...

This question has already been answered

The laptop (TV card) must have an input for a Video signal (S-video) as well as an input for an Audio signal.
Video Grabber is the cheapest solution

The discussion revolves around connecting a digital decoder to an HP dv1080 laptop equipped with a GF 9600 GT graphics card via HDMI. Users clarify that the HDMI port on the laptop is an output-only interface, meaning it cannot receive signals from the decoder. To connect the decoder, a TV card with video and audio input capabilities is necessary, or alternatively, a video grabber can be used as a cost-effective solution.
