Hello, I have a bosch c3, as if I bought a new one, I charged it with maybe 5 batteries, but today I wanted to connect and only the blue light on the battery is discharged does not want to detect it. I connected it to a second one in the car and it detected it. It bothered me and I dismantled the rectifier, which turns out a handyman was already sitting with it and did not put other capacitors or anything like that.

He is not new. Production date from 2012. So maybe it would be better to make a complaint?

    Best regards!

Such chargers do not detect deeply discharged batteries, how much V does he have?

I bought it as new, but from 5 years ago, so sorry I didn't write it

Most switched-mode rectifiers, if they don't get the right voltage from the battery, won't start charging it, if you've had a heavily or completely discharged battery, it may not have detected you.

Aku on the meter showed 9.98V so it is possible that the rectifier will not raise it below 10V as it is?

    Exactly.

Charge it with a normal rectifier and connect to it later.

In practice, the electronic ones require a voltage from 7 to 10 V at 12 V battery, so it may be.

    Most inductive rectifiers

So to call a rectifier they are all "inductive".
Either the transformer, which is the inductive element, or the inductive elements of the converter. ;)

I'm digging up a bit. Does anyone know the voltage of the zener diode Z1 visible in these photos? I got a copy and someone put in the usual 1n4148.

Topic summary

The Bosch C3 charger is experiencing issues detecting a battery, indicated by a blue LED light. The user reports that the charger worked with other batteries but failed to detect one with a voltage reading of 9.98V. Responses suggest that the charger may not recognize deeply discharged batteries, typically requiring a minimum voltage of 7 to 10V to initiate charging. Recommendations include using a standard rectifier to charge the battery to a sufficient voltage before reconnecting it to the Bosch C3 charger. Additionally, concerns were raised about the rectifier's condition, as it had been previously tampered with.
