Hello, recently I started to connect the speakers to the computer and in the back panel I plugged in the speakers and in the front panel the headphones with a microphone. In general, I have no objection to the speakers, only that it's nice if they are connected to the back because I can afford to connect 5 speakers. But these headphones I noticed that when they are connected at the back, the sound is already weaker but the rest works properly but when I connect the headphones at the front, the sound is nice loud, you can feel the bass but the problem appears when I talk on, for example, TeamSpeak 3, I have the option to turn off microphone on the cable and instead of minimizing the games, I simply move the slider to "OFF" and say what's happening .. Well, I turn off the microphone, whatever I say, no one will hear but friends can hear, for example, background music as if the microphone was catching sounds from the PC.
    - The headphones are Fatality Creative,
    - Motherboard is Asrock z370 killer sli
I do not know if I have described everything well and understandably, but I am waiting for a proposal

I have already seen it somewhere, but I can't find this option, just like in the control panel on the previous PC, I had a special card to enter, for example, Realtek and in this PC nothing like all drivers installed.
Any little hint on how to find it?

If you select it in the middle, you don't have the configure option?
There should also be a Realtek HD Audio Manager in the control panel, but it is not there because you do not have an audio driver ...
I can see the driver on the ASrock website but you will also find it on the realtek website.

Drivers installed. Stereo mix off and audio continues to output with the microphone off.

Physically disconnect the headphones from the headsets, leaving the microphone behind. Plug in other headphones or speakers. Sound still being transmitted? Because maybe something has happened to the headphones.

Sorry for taking so long to answer just the last 2 months of school and too much on my mind. I unplugged the headphones, but I left the microphone with them and connected the speakers for them and the sound is not transmitted anymore. As soon as I connect the headphones, it catches sounds from the machine. These headphones are damaged, because I just remember that something like this was done before and that on new headphones, and I am not smiling to buy new ones. It works well on the other one at the rear and it doesn't conflict with each other anymore.

Then buy an audio extension cord and plug it in the back. I suspect that it is enough to put the microphone in the back.
You can always use some other microphone. From a webcam or just buy another one (the simplest costs a few zlotys and enough for conversations).

    I solved the problem. ;)
For people who seem to have a similar problem, I solved my problem in such a way that in the Realtek panel I set myself in the advanced options that each slot is separate and turned on the acoustic echo removal, so for now everything ok, I'll see if it will be like that until the end. I will also attach ss if someone did not understand what is going on. Now I feel like the sound in these headphones is coming from 7 sides,
is it good or not really? ; D Nothing is catching me now, it mutes normally, only this effect is in the headphones but the sound is mega. Microphone and headphones - Capturing sound with the microphone off.

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around issues with sound capture when using Fatality Creative headphones connected to a computer. The user experiences a problem where background sounds are picked up by the microphone even when it is turned off, particularly during use with TeamSpeak 3. Suggestions include disabling Stereo Mix in sound options, checking the Control Panel for sound settings, and ensuring the correct audio drivers are installed. The user eventually resolves the issue by configuring the Realtek HD Audio Manager to treat each audio slot separately and enabling acoustic echo removal, resulting in improved sound quality and isolation from background noise.

FAQ

TL;DR: Two Realtek toggles fixed PC mic bleed—"separate all jacks" and "acoustic echo removal." "I solved the problem." Works for Windows headsets leaking audio to friends even with the mic switch OFF. Also check Stereo Mix and drivers. [Elektroda, mario19985, post #17058590]

Why it matters: Stop leaking system audio into calls without buying new gear.

Quick-Facts

Quick Facts

Why does my mic send PC audio even when the switch is OFF?

Headphone audio can couple into the mic line through shared front-panel wiring or a faulty headset. The OP confirmed the leak vanished when only the mic stayed connected, and it returned when the headphones were reconnected. That indicates crosstalk or cable damage in the headset. [Elektroda, mario19985, post #17058565]

How do I disable Stereo Mix to stop friends hearing my game?

Open Control Panel > Sound > Recording. Right-click Stereo Mix and choose Disable. As one helper said, “Turn off Stereo Mix.” This prevents the system playback stream from being treated as a microphone in apps like TeamSpeak or Discord. Restart the app after changing the setting. [Elektroda, Kasek21, post #17037850]

Where is Sound > Recording in Windows?

Go to Control Panel, open Sound, then switch to the Recording tab. From there you can disable Stereo Mix or configure your microphone and any loopback devices. This path was shared in the thread for quick access. [Elektroda, Kasek21, post #17037919]

I don’t see Realtek HD Audio Manager—what should I install?

Install the motherboard’s audio driver to expose Realtek HD Audio Manager and its options. As an expert tip put it: “Install the drivers.” Use the ASRock Z370 Killer SLI support page or Realtek’s package. Reboot after installation. [Elektroda, Kasek21, post #17038075]

How do I stop mic bleed on Realtek when using the front jack?

Open Realtek HD Audio Manager. In advanced options, set each slot/jack to operate separately. Enable Acoustic Echo Cancellation. The OP reported that these two toggles immediately stopped the mic from relaying PC audio during calls. [Elektroda, mario19985, post #17058590]

Front jack is louder than rear—should I worry?

The OP observed the front jack sounded louder, while the rear supported 5 speakers. Different gain paths can make front jacks seem louder. Use whichever sounds better without distortion. If you need multi-speaker output, keep speakers on the rear panel. [Elektroda, mario19985, post #17037780]

How can I test if the headset hardware is causing the leak?

Unplug the headphone speakers from the headset, leave the mic connected, and use separate speakers for playback. If the leak stops, the headset wiring is at fault. Reconnecting the headphones and seeing the leak return confirms a headset-side issue. [Elektroda, 310artur, post #17042578]

Stereo Mix is off and drivers installed, but leak persists—what now?

This edge case happened to the OP. Next, use Realtek to separate jacks and enable echo cancellation. Then test the headset by disconnecting the earcups as a control. If the leak remains only with the headset attached, replace or bypass the headset audio path. [Elektroda, mario19985, post #17041921]

Can a damaged headset feed system audio into the mic?

Yes. A short or crosstalk in the headset cable can bridge headphone output into the mic conductor. The OP’s leak disappeared with only the mic connected and returned when the headphones were reattached, indicating headset damage. Replace or isolate the faulty part. [Elektroda, mario19985, post #17058565]

Quick 3-step Realtek fix I can try right now?

  1. Open Realtek HD Audio Manager.
  2. Enable “Separate all input jacks as independent devices.”
  3. Turn on Acoustic Echo Cancellation for the mic. These three steps stopped the bleed for the OP using Creative Fatal1ty headphones on an ASRock Z370 board. [Elektroda, mario19985, post #17058590]

Is using a rear extension cable or a different mic a good workaround?

Yes. Run a short extension to the rear jacks to avoid front-panel coupling, or use a separate mic. A basic standalone mic costs only a few zlotys and is sufficient for voice chat. This avoids replacing the whole headset. [Elektroda, 310artur, post #17058581]

Does the “7-sides” virtual surround change what others hear from my mic?

Virtual surround affects only playback. With Acoustic Echo Cancellation enabled, remote listeners should not hear that effect. The OP noted a “7 sides” sensation after enabling the Realtek settings that fixed the leak, with no mic pickup of system audio. [Elektroda, mario19985, post #17058590]
