Welcome. I am writing about one of the parameters in Crystal Disk Info. Every once in a while I check disks with CDI and HdTune programs and recently one of the parameters worried me (given in the attachment). Is the disk damaged or is it something important and can it be repaired? Best regards and thank you in advance for your help.

So the only way is to remap and remove everything from the disk? A bit of Kiev. Somehow you can check how many of these sectors there are and if I can have any problems because of it, or maybe it's just a small logical error and will go without further action. And if I still have a warranty for this disk, is such a thing subject to it? And if after the disk defragmentation, the status changed to good as in the attachment, it means that it was a logical error and you can ignore the earlier problem?

The remap does not delete anything from the disk, but just in case you need to secure the data.
As for checking the number of bad sectors, you can check with MHDD program.

This is not a tragedy but I suggest scanning the Disk and resetting :) of course, download important data before you reset it

I'm just curious that after the defragmentation, surprisingly, the warning disappeared. And after that, I don't know if I want to play remaps since I still have a drive guarantee for a few months. How to scan this disk to find out how many sectors are there?

    MHDD - F4 button twice.

Need to boot a computer with ISO MHDD? Tomorrow I'll do a scan and send the results.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the interpretation of unstable sectors reported by Crystal Disk Info (CDI) and the implications for disk health. Users express concern over the potential damage to the disk and seek advice on whether the issue can be repaired. It is noted that remapping does not erase data, but securing important files is recommended before proceeding. Users suggest using the MHDD program to check the number of bad sectors and to perform scans. One user reports that after defragmentation, the warning about unstable sectors disappeared, raising questions about the nature of the problem—whether it was a logical error or indicative of deeper issues. The importance of monitoring SMART attributes, particularly for Western Digital (WDC) drives, is also highlighted.
