Colleagues have to buy a new battery for Renault Clio III 1.2 75kM. The original Renault battery lasted 10 years, had 47Ah 420A parameters. The car makes two 12 km long routes a day, a different car is used for longer routes.

The question is whether when buying a new battery to choose the same parameters (capacity, current), I would not want to destroy the battery by not recharging or overcharging.

What brand do you recommend and what parameters would you choose for this car. I am considering buying an Autopart Galaxy Gold 547-160 battery
    47Ah 480A. I care about good quality.

There is no rule with this, now everything is done so that it will last until the warranty ;-) you can buy a little more capacity, the alternator should charge it, although with such short routes the original one is probably not 100% charged either.

    My opinion is this:
You should buy as large a battery as possible that can fit into the container in the car. There is no fear of undercharging or overcharging. Nowadays, in every car, an alternator is so powerful that it will charge a battery of any size. It should be noted that in order to recharge a battery with a capacity of, for example, 72 Ah, a current of about 7 A is enough. Most alternators in cars have a current capacity of 100 A. A large battery suffers less in a car when it is deeply discharged and, for example, at -10 ° outside. C. The charging current is then 20 A or more. It is obvious that a large battery can handle high charging currents better than a small one. This is of great importance for the service life of the battery. In addition, a large battery means lower internal resistance and higher starting current at lower temperatures.

As for the company, buy whatever you want or like there. When choosing, consider the weight. The greater the weight of the battery for a given capacity, the better the battery. The company is of secondary importance.

    Best regards!

Summarizing the two answers above. Big, heavy, to fit into a box, plus height on the right. Of course, not too expensive. I wonder if 278x175x175 will enter there, as in 1.5dCi

Ask in the store what is selling well (quality-price ratio) and whether there are any problems with them, returns and how the manufacturer / guarantor approaches any complaints. There are many companies that easily replace them with new ones, because these are rare cases, and those that have problems constantly suffer from annoying procedures, 2-week verification periods, etc. (during this time you are without a battery!) Avoid well-known brands because on our market, bosch, varta, are shoddy for a 2-year warranty. From branded (sometimes under other brands) look for something from Polish manufacturers or good battery concerns: exide, yuasa, etc.

Thanks for the information, colleagues. By updating the topic, I say what the matter is. The choice fell on the Autopart company, which is a Polish manufacturer of batteries. They have a factory in Mielec, a city located a bit away from me. They say they make good batteries.
Initially, I was supposed to take Galaxy Gold 47Ah 480A autopart (dimensions: 207 x 175 x 175) , although the seller suggested that I should take 10 zlotys more expensive Galaxy Gold 52Ah 480A autopart (dimensions: 207 x 175 x 190) . I paid extra for this nozzle, but I realized in the garage that this 52Ah version would be 1.5 cm too high, so I have no way to put a plastic top cover on the battery. Gabartyami the maximum version 47Ah. How do you think to try to replace this battery with the 47Ah version, will 52Ah operated without the top plastic cover in the engine be a better choice?

PS. Initially, I was supposed to take Banner Power Bull at all, although these Autoparts, the factory next door, Polish production, have positive opinions.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around selecting a new battery for a Renault Clio III 1.2 75kM, with the original battery lasting 10 years at 47Ah 420A. Users suggest that opting for a battery with slightly higher capacity, such as the Autopart Galaxy Gold 547-160 (47Ah 480A), is acceptable, as modern alternators can handle larger batteries without issues of undercharging or overcharging. Recommendations include considering battery weight and dimensions to ensure proper fit. Brands like Bosch, Varta, Exide, and Yuasa are mentioned, with a preference for Polish manufacturers like Autopart. The author ultimately decided on the Autopart Galaxy Gold but faced a fit issue with a larger 52Ah version.
