Hello, gentlemen, I bought a drill with SDS Plus system, I need some drill bits for this. Isn't it worth buying sets, as is the case with regular drill bits? Is there anything of good quality in any kit?

I will drill mainly in the wall of a block and sometimes in wood, and I need these two. Definitely for a DIY enthusiast than professionally and profitably.

What are your walls? Solid concrete or brick?

For wood, these drill bits are similar to those for metal and are mounted in a "traditional" handle.

MODECO drills from the market to play at home will be ok. Optionally some BOSCH.

How big is this drill? In wood, SDS with an attachment is a lot of trouble - unless you have big biceps ... :-)
I would rather buy a regular drill.

    Hello.
For amateur use, I once bought a set of Makita drills and chisels and there is no madness - typical Chinese food, the price is about PLN 100 per set, the quality is adequate to the price. For more demanding applications, although still amateur I buy Hitachi star-shaped carbide drill bits, they are of much better quality than in this set. In my opinion, it is better to buy better drill bits according to your needs.

These amateur sets of drills, about PLN 50 on portals, also drill, but in solid concrete there must be more power of the drill, not the cheapest of the newspapers.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around selecting quality SDS Plus drill bits for DIY projects, specifically for drilling in concrete blocks and wood. Users emphasize the importance of using appropriate drill bits for different materials, noting that wood drilling typically requires a non-impact approach with a standard drill. Recommendations include MODECO and BOSCH drill bits for general use, while for more demanding tasks, users suggest investing in higher-quality options like Makita and Hitachi carbide drill bits. The consensus is that while cheaper sets are available, they may not perform well in solid concrete, and it is advisable to choose drill bits based on specific needs rather than purchasing generic sets.
