Hello, I wanted to format the computer because it started something mulic, I decided to do it by restoring Windows 10 to its initial state. I chose to delete everything but without wiping the disk. The preparation for the desktop restart started and after a few minutes the system rebooted. Well, now there was a problem because for a moment this windows icon showed the word `` preparation '' and a small dot above the inscription and it kind of got bitten. And then I just see a black screen and nothing happens. I've been waiting for over an hour anyway, restarting doesn't help because it's the same thing. What can I do to fix it or somehow terminate this process - should I wait? Please help :)

PS: desktop computer, win10 upgraded from 7

Do you have a working disk? Put his SMART from MHDD.

lately I have an impression that it works slower and sometimes it is very heavy when I do nothing. Plus now I started to receive a message that I can not continue the installation of windows and I have to restart the computer but it does not help I can do it over and over again to no avail

Well, I ran this program on pena and I wanted to run Parted Magic but I ended up with this "setting up system devices" and then nothing happened. I also tried MHDD but I don't know why but it just doesn't detect the disk. I also downloaded the Gparted program, which I formatted the partitions and wiped the disk. Then I wanted to run the Windows installer with pen but the effect was the same as in the beginning, i.e. the windows icon and then a black screen.

Added after 19 [hours] 44 [minutes]:

I was able to see the SMART parameters and what do they show?

It doesn't have all the parameters. Press MHDD F8 and then any key to make the program show the bottom part of the table.

Perform a surface scan in MHDD (2x F4). After scanning, post the results on the forum.

I unplugged the disk and started the installation with the pen, but the effects were the same as before, i.e. the icon and the black screen, so it's not the disk's fault?

    The disk is OK.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a user experiencing a black screen issue while attempting to restore their Windows 10 system to its initial state after formatting the computer. The user initially chose to delete everything without wiping the disk, leading to a failed installation process characterized by a black screen after the Windows logo. Various troubleshooting steps were suggested, including using diagnostic tools like MHDD and Parted Magic to check disk health and perform surface scans. Despite attempts to reinstall Windows using a USB drive and formatting partitions, the user continued to encounter the same black screen issue, leading to the conclusion that the disk may not be the source of the problem.
