    Hello,

I'm trying to do like this video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SS9ZxeDNxMk
Unfortunately, after creating a folder in the OneDrive folder on my drive, it cannot be seen on the OneDrive page (1st minute, 6th second of the movie).
From what I remember, when I did it a few months ago, it worked well for me. Anyway, I had several files and folders saved this way. Unfortunately, it stopped working at some point. It is possible that I myself have unwittingly broken something.

When I right-click on folders in OneDrive, the options do not appear:
    - Share the OneDrive link
- More sharing options on OneDrive
    - Display online
    - Select OneDrive folders to sync
    just like on this page:
    http://www.komputerswiat.pl/jak-to-dziala/2016/07/onedrive.aspx

My goal is to have a directory on your computer from which data would automatically be saved in the cloud in case I don't lose data if my hard drive breaks down. I am asking for tips on how to fix this synchronization.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Are you sure you are logged in to your Microsoft account?
If so, try uploading some files, but be forewarned, OneDrive is not an express maker, it may just take a while before it synchronizes,
Also check Settings> Mail and accounts to see if everything is OK.

    Thank you for your help.

I am definitely logged in to a Microsoft account.

This morning I uploaded 2 small files again to the OneDrive folder. You can't see them on the OneDrive page so far.

I'm not sure if everything is fine in the settings. I don't see anything suspicious. In the "Sync settings" option, everything is enabled.

I am asking for further help.

On the taskbar (on the right, probably hidden under the arrow) should be the OneDrive logo, after clicking should appear a list of sent files, if it is not open Task Manager (CTRL + Shift + Esc) press Show details and look in the first tab whether the OneDrive process is running at all, besides, in File Explorer, see the OneDrive settings (they are in the popup menu), besides make sure you do not have a full account (5GB Free, 50GB paid, 1TB from Office). It would be good if you sent some screenshots (or priv).

Go to File Explorer and right-click on OneDrive, then go to Settings and see if there is something mixed up and if there are any, because if it is not there, then you probably put the files into the folder called OneDrive, which in reality is not a folder of this service.

    Hello

Delete the program. Protecting data from this service's folder before deleting. Reset after removing the computer. After turning it on, reinstall the program by carefully reading the messages that appear. After installing, see if there are relevant entries in the firewall. There should be an entry from OneDrive in the autostart, if you do not need to create it.

    After that, everything should work.

And it doesn't work because Win 10 itself interferes with the firewall and autostart, which can be manifested in this way.

    Regards

OneDrive is an integral part of Windows 10 and cannot be uninstalled in the normal way, and the installation file is not generally available, I will try to develop a repair method as soon as possible, but for technical reasons not earlier than tonight.

Uninstall OneDrive And a quote from the document:

    Quote:
The OneDrive app is installed by default in Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1. It cannot be uninstalled on these systems. However, you can uninstall the OneDrive app on Windows 7, Windows Vista, and some versions of Windows 10. On phones with Windows 10, you cannot uninstall the OneDrive app.

If you uninstall it, syncing your OneDrive folder will stop, but any files and data stored on OneDrive will still be available when you log in to OneDrive.com.

    Windows 10

Select the Start button, enter "Programs" in the search field, then select Add or remove programs in the results list.

Under Applications and Features, find and select Microsoft OneDrive, and then select Uninstall. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, enter the password or provide confirmation.

Exactly, some - old versions before AU.

    Added after 25 [minutes]:

And one more question: Is the system 32 or 64 bit?

    Added after 8 [minutes]:

You can still try to go to the path "C: \ Users \ [name] \ OneDrive" and check if you click somewhere in the folder will be these Onedrive options.
I combine the way to uninstall OneDrive, I will keep you updated on progress.

    Added after 13 [minutes]:

    Well then:
    To uninstall Onedrive:
    1. Launch Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc)
    2. Find the Microsoft OneDrive process, right click and close the process
    3. Go to the path "C: \ Users \ [name] \ AppData \ Local \ Microsoft" and delete the entire OneDrive folder.
    To reinstall ObeDrive:
    1. Go to "C: \ Windows" and search in the search bar "onedrive", the file is called "OneDriveSetup.exe" exactly and is located in a subfolder with a little shapely name.

    64-bit.

Your tips have helped me a lot. Just:

    3. Follow the configuration program.

It is only now that I have summarized it. Initially, I performed other activities rather not leading to my goal. Unfortunately, OneDrive still stops working for me. Probably mainly after the system startup. So the problem has not been solved yet. In the future I plan to check the autostart and firewall. I'm going very slowly.

FAQ

TL;DR: If OneDrive won’t sync, check sign‑in, make sure OneDrive runs, and confirm storage isn’t full (5 GB free tier). “Make sure you do not have a full account.” Then reset or reinstall the client. [Elektroda, kocans1025, post #17164793]

Why it matters: This helps Windows 10 users quickly restore reliable OneDrive backup and cross‑device access without losing data.

Quick Facts

  • Storage tiers often referenced: 5 GB free, 50 GB paid, 1 TB with Microsoft 365; check quota before troubleshooting. [Elektroda, kocans1025, post #17164793]
  • Built‑in installer: run C:\Windows\OneDriveSetup.exe to reinstall the sync client fast. [Elektroda, kocans1025, post #17165421]
  • Uninstall scope: Some Windows 10 versions allow removal via Apps & features; others don’t expose uninstall. “Turn off, disable, or uninstall OneDrive”
  • Reset option: Running the OneDrive reset command often restores Explorer integration without a full reinstall. “Fix OneDrive sync problems”
  • Limits that break sync: up to 250 GB per file; reserved names like CON/AUX and long paths can fail. “Restrictions and limitations in OneDrive”

How do I fix OneDrive not syncing on Windows 10?

Confirm you’re signed in to OneDrive. Check the tray icon and start OneDrive if it isn’t running. Restart the app, then run the reset command to rebuild integration. Verify your account has available cloud storage. If issues persist, reinstall the client. “Fix OneDrive sync problems”

OneDrive icon is missing from the taskbar—what should I do?

Open the system tray overflow arrow and look for the cloud icon. If it isn’t there, open Task Manager and confirm the OneDrive process is running. Start OneDrive from the Start menu if needed. Reinstall if the process won’t stay running. [Elektroda, kocans1025, post #17164793]

I don’t see OneDrive options in File Explorer’s right‑click menu. How do I restore them?

That menu appears only when the OneDrive sync client is installed and running. Restart OneDrive. If missing, use the reset command to rebuild shell integration. If integration remains absent, reinstall the OneDrive client. “Fix OneDrive sync problems”

How do I start OneDrive if the process isn’t running?

Press Start and type OneDrive to launch it. If it’s missing or broken, run C:\Windows\OneDriveSetup.exe to reinstall and start the client. This restores the process and the tray icon. [Elektroda, kocans1025, post #17165421]

How can I reinstall OneDrive on Windows 10?

Use this 3‑step method:
  1. Close OneDrive in Task Manager and uninstall it if available in Apps & features.
  2. Delete %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\OneDrive to remove remnants.
  3. Run C:\Windows\OneDriveSetup.exe to reinstall, then sign in. [Elektroda, kocans1025, post #17165421]

Could a full OneDrive stop sync?

Yes. If your cloud storage is full, syncing halts until you free space or upgrade. Tiers commonly referenced are 5 GB free, 50 GB paid, and 1 TB with Microsoft 365. Check usage on OneDrive.com or the client’s Account tab. [Elektroda, kocans1025, post #17164793]

How do I force OneDrive to start with Windows (autostart)?

Open OneDrive Settings and enable startup with Windows, or add OneDrive to your Startup apps. Ensure a firewall rule allows OneDrive. “There should be an entry from OneDrive in the autostart.” [Elektroda, icosie, post #17165208]

How can I back up Desktop, Documents, and Pictures automatically to OneDrive?

Use OneDrive’s PC folder backup (Known Folder Move). In OneDrive Settings > Backup, select Desktop, Documents, and Pictures. This redirects those folders to OneDrive and syncs them across devices. “Back up your Windows Desktop, Documents, and Pictures with OneDrive”

How do I reset OneDrive without reinstalling?

Close OneDrive. Press Win+R and run %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\OneDrive.exe /reset. After the reset completes, start OneDrive from the Start menu and sign in if prompted. This fixes many shell integration and sync issues. “Fix OneDrive sync problems”

My new files don’t appear on OneDrive.com. What’s wrong?

Ensure the OneDrive client is running and signed in. Check the tray icon for sync progress or errors. Network or device performance can delay uploads. As one helper notes, “OneDrive is not an express maker; it may just take a while.” [Elektroda, kocans1025, post #17161172]

After reboot, OneDrive stops working. What should I check?

Confirm OneDrive is enabled in Startup apps and that your firewall allows it. Reinstall the client if startup entries were removed. As noted, Windows changes can affect firewall and autostart, breaking sync until corrected. [Elektroda, icosie, post #17165208]

I can’t uninstall OneDrive—Apps & features shows no option. Is that normal?

Yes. Some Windows 10 versions don’t expose the uninstall option for OneDrive. Use the reset command or reinstall via the built‑in setup when removal isn’t available. “Turn off, disable, or uninstall OneDrive”

How do I choose which OneDrive folders to sync to my PC?

Open OneDrive Settings > Account > Choose folders. Select only the folders you need offline. This reduces disk usage and speeds local sync. “Choose which OneDrive folders to sync to your computer”

What file limits or names can break OneDrive sync?

OneDrive blocks certain names (CON, NUL, AUX) and characters. Very long paths can fail. The per‑file size limit is up to 250 GB. Rename or shorten items that violate these limits, then sync again. “Restrictions and limitations in OneDrive”

How can I tell if OneDrive is installed and running?

Look for the cloud icon in the taskbar tray. If it’s missing, check Task Manager for the OneDrive process. Also check OneDrive’s entry in File Explorer’s sidebar and its Settings menu. Reinstall if the client is absent. [Elektroda, kocans1025, post #17164793]
