I have a radio with Android 8.0 which theoretically should work with a USB 4G LTE modem. I wonder what would be better for sending internet. Is the mentioned USB modem or maybe a WiFi / MiFi router? Mainly it is about power and switching on. The USB modem would turn on after turning on the radio. (The problem is that I am not 100% sure that the radio will support the modem and there would be unnecessary costs associated with the purchase of the modem). As for the router, it could be powered from USB just like the modem. He would communicate with the radio via WiFi. The problem is that after it is discharged when the car will stand, I would have to physically turn it on with the button. So every day. Unless there are models that go to sleep when they do not get charging or that the power consumption would be negligible and could be connected constantly to charging. Maybe someone will help you choose better and give specific models of the modem or router.

Each mobile router has energy saving, ie WiFi turns off even for example and to activate it again you have to press the power button.

There may be problems with the power supply to the modem.

MiFi router, but for example the E8278 would be the best.

But all powered by USB only must have a solid power supply, or they can disconnect.

The router would be okay but I wake it up every time with a button. Ideally, it should wake up after it gets charged, or if the radio searches for it. Why would the modem have insufficient power over the USB radio?

Because the modem at peak can charge up to 0.8A.

Have you checked the Huawei E8278? It seems to be the best option to me, because it is a USB-powered router that automatically starts when connected.

I have a Huawei E173 modem. Someone on this forum wrote that he should be able to do it, but unfortunately in my case almost nothing is happening. Android 8.0, I connect to USB 2.0, it appears to me empty range icon, information no service . However, in the Google Play Store, the Play P4 applications are recommended to me. What the hell? Anyone know how to bite it?
