Of course, there are no USB modems

Formally, of course, this is not true. Any mini pcie or m.2 modem talks through the USB interface. All you need is an adapter for a few PLN and some antennas and we have LTE on USB for any winzgroze or Linux. Formally, because it would be extremely impractical due to the electronics outside and the problem with mounting the antennas.

Edit: please, the Chinese came up with it. For 5g it would be bigger because there are more antennas.

    Small but a 5G modem costs $500-600.

I did not write about the price, only that it is not true that there are no 5g usb modems. So much.

It's not so bad, on Ali Quectel RM500Q-GL for about $ 300 but it's not USB and requires an additional adapter, antennas so it's not a buy and use 5g USB modem so it's not true that typical 5G modems are widely available USB in the sense of E3372 because that's what the question was asked.

Well, that's exactly what I wrote. That it's not a practical solution, but these modems talk over USB, so technically they exist.

And you didn't write that there are no plug and play solutions, just that there are none at all.

Topic summary

The discussion centers on the search for 5G USB modems or mobile routers comparable to the Huawei E3372 and E5573. Participants clarify that while traditional USB modems are scarce, mobile 5G routers are available. Some mention that technically, 5G modems can communicate via USB with the right adapters, but they are impractical for everyday use due to size and antenna requirements. The Quectel RM500Q-GL is noted as a potential option, though it requires additional components. Pricing for mobile 5G routers varies, with some models costing around $280 to $360, but additional costs for shipping and customs can significantly increase the total expense. The discussion also highlights the viability of using a 5G smartphone as a hotspot as a more cost-effective solution.
