Hello, the matter is as follows ... I decided to buy a Radio on Android 7.1, in a set with a canbus module.
Radio dedicated to VW cars, my car is Fabia 2 from the end of 2008.

The first thing, after connecting everything as it should (I hope) that hurt me, is that the display between the meter and the speedometer has died - it should have a radio channel / track number and volume, and it is black.

The second thing is that it does not catch my reverse gear and does not show me graphics with parking sensors and distance to the obstacle (it really hurt me so much :(

In general, these things only show me the door / flap opening, total mileage, battery charging, and everything else is nonsense, e.g. Handbrake always in the ON position, the amount of fuel in the 127L tank, zero speed, zero speed etc.

I do not care about the parameters about which I wrote the paragraph above as much as on parking detectors and the display between the clocks.

I haven't connected the webcam at the back - yet, of course, when I connect it and have a picture from the camera + a car with detectors drawn, I will be very happy.

I read somewhere that you can change the car code in such radios, or change the CAN software ... but for no treasures I found how to do it.

And one quick question to be sure ... When the lights are on, the radio automatically reduces the brightness, connecting the ILL cable will do the trick?

Thank you beautifully for all the help and advice
    greetings

Radio, what is under the link differs from mine only by symbols on analog keys, all others look the same.

Hello again, it's a shame that no one was able to advise me anything, things I came to (maybe someone will be useful :)

the display between the speedometer and the tachometer when he died so did not stand up.

After connecting the reverse camera after driving in reverse, of course the image from the webcam appears, and as I approach the obstacle and the sensor starts to pick up, a car with sensor lines appears on the left :) (Happy)

I found hidden menus - you can't enter them with buttons, you have to go to Settings / About Device and click kernel version later OS Version and repeat the action 3 times. (there are some nice options inside, e.g. changing the car model for CAN BUS decoding)

The digital speedometer works without the use of OBD2, fuel, handbrake still nothing (these parameters will show rather only with OBD2 how to wash, straighten)

The whole radio panel still dims after turning on the lights, ILL cable is not connected - it bothers me terribly because on a sunny day you can hardly see it, and at night it will be too light for me to change manually -
Someone will tell you what to do with it? I would like the brightness to not change when I turn on the lights, in no menu do I have this option.

    Thanks
    greetings

I had a similar one at Seat Altea but it was the fault of the can-bus module.
I didn't know the counter for one from Seat Toledo full fis
Now I have everything burning on the meter and on the radio, I can even read text messages from the telephone on the radio or in fis.

And did you deal with this dimming of the backlight? I have the same, and it irritates me terribly on a sunny day. Also ILL have disconnected.

How did you deal with connecting such a radio? did you use CAN H and L or K and L? Do you have any additional module for the radio? or directly to CAN H and L? and as with the settings on the radio. I have a Fabie 1 1.4 16V (06)

For me, only the fifth CAN-Bus decoder allowed the radio to fully "spread its wings". Interestingly, not intended in the specification for my car, and ordered without any hope of success only because it cost 4 € 🤪
In previous decoders, the option of updating the software did not help - some functions were still missing or did not work properly.

[postid]18936857/postid] Mate, I had the same problem on my Xtron radio. There was no button illumination, but the cause was trivial. I connected the orange wire from the radio to the yellow wire from the power supply and everything is ok.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues faced after installing an Android 7.1 radio with a Canbus module in a 2008 VW Fabia 2. The user reports that the display between the speedometer and tachometer is non-functional, failing to show radio information, and that the reverse gear and parking sensor graphics are not displaying correctly. Other parameters, such as fuel level and handbrake status, are also incorrect. Subsequent responses suggest that the problems may be related to the Canbus module, with one user successfully resolving similar issues by using a different Canbus decoder. The original poster discovered hidden settings in the radio that allow for adjustments to Canbus decoding, but still struggles with the dimming of the radio panel and some parameters not displaying correctly without an OBD2 connection.
