    I warmly welcome,
I bought an alarm for the house and I am at the stage of laying cables before plastering the walls. I am asking for help in the matter of gaining knowledge on this subject, and more specifically for the distribution of cables themselves, at this stage I want to make sure if I distribute the RJ-45 cable to each device from the control panel? and is there supposed to be only one cable for each device or more? And do the devices connect with each other or only with the control panel?
I ask because I saw at a friend's installation that 2 detector cables protrude and go into the wall (the rest is plastered so I do not know how it is done exactly, is the other cable just emergency?)
    I bought: http://allegro.pl/alarm-satel-ca-5-4-czujniki-ruch-dom-firma-zestaw-i7138755523.html

1x Satel CA-5 alarm control panel
1x LED keypad for operating the Satel CA-5 KLED-S system
4x internal motion detector Paradox PRO Plus
    1x acoustic-optical siren SL-550

Generally, it's a bit outdated system. Specifically, from each detector, keypad, siren, one wire towards the central unit. Better typically 6x0.5 alarm cable, but twisted pair can also be.

OK thanks for the information. I had a slightly limited alarm budget, hence the decision on this model,

The detectors can be combined from one another so that there is some slack in the control panel. Of course, only the power supply is common, the signals are separate.

In home conditions where the lines do not stretch for several hundred meters (so we can skip voltage drops - knowing that the detector consumes 10-20 mA on average and often works correctly from 9V) it can be safely assumed with the appropriate supply that we mount 6 wires one detector, two 8-wire cables etc. Of course, the fewer detectors on one cable the better, because damage to one cable will not be synonymous with damage to the entire system or a significant part of it.
It is also true that a much larger number of detectors can be hung on such a cable, but let's leave it for emergency situations, and when planning a new installation, let's do it fairly well. I hope that the twisted pair is not cheap for 100 PLN box from the auction site or 1 PLN / meter from the market, which usually means that we are dealing with aluminum?

And let's not mix up the subject of the alarm with the cameras (I deleted the unnecessary entry)

Main devices such as the siren and the manipulator are pulled with a shielded twisted pair bit cat 5e (towards the control panel) but I also have some old unshielded kat5e cable and I also wanted to use it to pull as far as I need it detector-> control panel. Although it is not somehow very good, but after pulling the cable from point A to B (about 15m) and making ends with the RJ-45 plug (to check) the cable shows good transmission on all veins, but I prefer to ask if this cable can stay?

Yes of course. With the fact that the manipulator is better like a straight wire - typically 6x0.5 alarm. But you can also put one stubborn on it.

Isn't it better to buy a good new cable? 100m cable YTDY 6x0.5 costs PLN 52. Is this such a big expense? The more that the cable goes under the plaster ...
You will put the old one, you do not know what, and then there will be a lament that something is not working and the walls will be finished ...

    Best regards.

Right, 52 PLN is not a big cost, so I will buy and combine the proposed ones, thank you for the hints

    Hello,

When you buy, buy 8x0.5. The price difference is small and you will have a supply of live for the future.

    Best regards.

Yes, I recommend it to everyone, pull a wire (or even two) from the control panel to the electrical switchboard ... Just in case.

    PS
There is nothing to "come to mind" with this shielding.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the installation of a SATEL alarm system, specifically focusing on cable distribution for connecting devices to the control panel. Users recommend using a 6x0.5 alarm cable or twisted pair cables (like Cat 5e) for connecting detectors, keypads, and sirens to the control panel. It is suggested to run separate cables for each device to avoid system failure due to cable damage. The importance of using quality cables, especially for installations behind plaster, is emphasized, with recommendations to consider future expansions by installing additional wires. The conversation also touches on the possibility of using older cables if they show good transmission but advises against it for reliability reasons.
