Hello, I'm about to buy a petrol chainsaw. Mainly it will be used for cutting wood for fuel at home and sometimes in the woods. I liked the Makita EA3500S35B model with 2.3kM power. I saw such models in Leroy Merlin, and in Brico, but is it worth taking a saw there? Do they sell original saws in supermarkets or is there a chance that I could get a fake from China, if so how do you recognize? Where are you most likely to buy a saw? Thanks for the answers

Buddy, Makita has one of the most modern factories in China. The saw is generally cool, but if you have your forest, it's a bit weak.

I don't go to the forest once a week, but two or three times a year, I think it should be ok, and as for the saw, I was so afraid that it might already be Chinese. And in general you can still get the original Japanese makite somewhere, or has China all taken over?

The vast majority of Makita chainsaws were produced in Germany, from Japan they came very rarely and only selected models. Of those manufactured in Germany, DCS520 (and higher models) can be taken in the dark, or EA4300, but the factory in China. Don't be afraid of the factory in china, this is Makity factory with their quality control and production technology.

I hear these texts my friend three times a day, because the basic criterion of choice is the price, and then there is crying because the saw is too weak, because this or that brand is crap. EA3500 is too weak for the forest, you will kill yourself and saw.

I know what prices are Makita chainsaws, I realize that the dsc520 or EA4300 will be more powerful because it has more power, but I do not intend to spend 1700 or 2000 PLN on a saw that it will use twice a year, because it will be more in the garage than work. I just wanted to know about the quality of these saws, not whether it would be too poor or not

If anything, buy it in a shop with this type of equipment, for backyard work you will have enough, although the quality of this saw is not amazing.

This is not just about the engine power but also about the comfort and speed of the saw, e.g. the DCS520-38 has a very good weight to engine power ratio and a chain pitch of 0.325 "
If you buy something weaker and with a 3/8 pico chain ... sincere condolences :)

Hello after a long absence. I just made a choice and bought a saw. The choice fell on the makite DCS4630 with a power of 3.2km. The saw seems solid, nice, easily fires. But what are your opinions on this subject, does anyone have this model? Because there are few reviews on the Internet about this saw. Did I make a good choice? Thank you in advance for the hints

DCS 520 would be a better choice, but since you bought it, then cut it as much as you can.
