At the IC201 power terminal, the S3-1 switch on the left is writing R and T (ie the signal from RADIO and TAPE.) Make this switch to be aux, radio and tape.

AM leave alone because it is a radio track you switch there AM and FM, ie long and FM.

Point C is a common path because the signal gets here from this point on the resistor R201- 22K and the potentiometer VOL

You would have to use a switch which will have 3 inputs and one output because the current one probably has 2 signal inputs and one output.

Or you can cut the path before R201 - 22K and disconnect the rest of the system with some additional switch to operate the AUX then connect the switch to work the rest of the tape recorder.

I do not see any other solution.

    Regards Damian.

You can pass a chinch socket with disconnector on the audio path before R201. Something like a headphone, you plug headphones, the speakers are off. Here you plug the chinch cable to give the signal from the outside - the current source from the inside of the equipment is disconnected. You pull out the cables - the socket switches to the original source. Required fixing of quinch sockets permanently in the housing. A single slot costs 2 zlotys. Well, depending on the length of the connections shielded cable, and the screen to ground, you may need to select the place mass massively so that it does not pop.

A colleague above is right with this attached audio aux track. But I did not find a separate socket type, chincz. There is but a headphone jack that switches the track to the headphones and the speaker. So you can buy and screw such a socket into the housing and connect it accordingly. There are also such cables jeck and chincz so it depends on what you will use / connect to what equipment because there are also jeck / jeck cables.

Thank you so much for help. I will buy a headphone jack and I will.
I want to connect the MP3 to the radio so the headphone jack will be good because I have a cable terminated with jacks.
I will take it for next week because now there is no time.
As if I will ask something.

Topic summary

The discussion focuses on how to connect an AUX input to the Panasonic RX-M40 radio instead of using the AM function. Users suggest modifying the existing circuitry by utilizing a switch to select between AUX, radio, and tape inputs. One proposed method involves using a chinch socket to disconnect the internal audio source when an external signal is connected. Additionally, a headphone jack can be installed to facilitate the connection of an MP3 player. The conversation highlights the need for proper wiring and the potential use of specific components like RCA sockets and shielded cables to ensure functionality.
