    Hello.
The car is a golf mk4 from 1999, 1.9 tdi alh engine.
3 pin pressure switch, version with climatronic.

The compressor does not turn on at all.
After the diagnosis from the panel level, there were two errors: 510 and 318, the radiator at the bottom was damaged, changed to a new one, tightness checked, loaded and this matter is ok, error 318 disappeared but still nothing. I started looking for topics, I connected the vaga in the meantime, there were no errors, there was a g191 sensor error on the engine turned off, the car is silent, the error is silent.
I checked the fans, there is no power supply on their plugs, the controller has been replaced, although a new replacement but something else, there is still no electricity, as for the fans themselves, in the diagnostic test from the panel level the fans go both at 1st speed, tests of outputs in the vag or in the air conditioning group, or in this case the counter, the fans go 1st and 2nd gear, respectively.
After briefly applying 12v to the compressor, the clutch clicks and goes, in the compressor plug on the old controller, the voltage was 4v with minor, on this new replacement it is 0.
The pressure switch has a mass and + 12v.
In the plug that comes to the controller, the one with the pluses, is it correct that + 12v after turning is only on one thick wire and the thin red one?
Temperature sensors checked in vagu and they are ok, be it air or coolant.
So much with my knowledge and ideas proven, can anything else check?
The fact that the second driver, theoretically new, is out of order, I take into account, but I would prefer to make sure that the 510 error remains, which always occurs, and I have not been able to find its description or anything else anywhere.
I know that a lot of this type of topics, I used many, but so far nothing has worked.
    greetings

Connect the vaga in the second block (as I remember) there will be a compressor activation status - why feel in the dark?

    Piotrek, you don't remember ?
The first block and there you can see why the air conditioning is not starting.
Read the errors with VAG and provide their exact descriptions and what you can see in the first measuring block, of course the engine should be on and the panel should have the word AUTO or it should be empty - there should be no word ECON.
    Will connect the original driver.

I did what you wrote, the error is still from the g191 sensor

Measurement blocks, if I understand it correctly:
    1: driver ori

    2: on replacement

I will add that this is how I jumped through the blocks, there are tensions in 008 and in the order from the left there are:
    10.56V | 10.18V | 14.65V | 0.00V

Air conditioning is not working due to low voltage.
    Block 8, window 3 - voltage on terminal 15.
It is supposed to be about 12V so it's strange why it shows you the correct voltage and the driver says that the voltage is too low.
Check with the meter what voltage is on the black and blue wire (pin 9), the passenger's plug in the air conditioning panel and on the driver's side plug (pin 14) on the black and blue wire on the ignition on on the plugs connected to the air conditioning panel - i.e. under load .

12.00V plug on passenger side, 11.59V plug on driver side

12.00V plug on passenger side, 11.59V plug on driver side

    Added after 1 [minutes]:

The problem can be considered as solved, I got the second panel, by the way, when I measured the voltage and had it taken out, I borrowed the same one and it clicked, it works properly.
Thank you for your help :)

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 1999 Golf Mk4 1.9 TDI ALH experiencing issues with its climatronic system, specifically the air conditioning compressor not activating. Initial diagnostics revealed error codes 510 and 318, with the latter disappearing after replacing a damaged radiator. Despite this, the compressor remained inactive, and further investigation indicated a G191 sensor error. Users suggested checking the VAG diagnostic tool for compressor activation status and voltage levels at various connections. Ultimately, the problem was resolved by replacing the air conditioning control panel, which restored functionality.
