Hello. I have a Renault Grand Epsace 4 3.0 dci and for some time the car won't start. When the ignition is turned on, the red indicator lights up and writes stop. I suspect that it is short circuiting somewhere, please help. Thank you in advance Zwarcie Renault Grand Espace 4 3.0 DCI: Car Won't Start, Red Stop Indicator - Short Circuit?1529753018...259224.jpg Download (2.5 MB)

Something with an immobilizer, maybe a card.

And what exactly could be with the immobilizer? Need to decode it?

Most often it is the fault of the card, maybe there is something wrong with it, e.g. the coil. There is a second card?

If it were a card, the ignition would not turn on.
The permanently lit IMO diode signals a problem with "getting along" between the engine controller and the cabin controller (UCH) - no power to the first one or the CAN line is damaged

Until I went to Lagunki to check the blank card because I was to write that you were wrong :D
Exactly, the blinking is a missed card, the steady light is the lack of getting along with the ECM and UCH.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a Renault Grand Espace 4 3.0 DCI that fails to start, indicated by a red "stop" light on the dashboard. Initial suggestions point to a potential issue with the immobilizer, specifically the key card, which may be malfunctioning. However, further insights suggest that if the ignition is on, the card is likely not the problem. Instead, the persistent illumination of the immobilizer (IMO) diode indicates a communication failure between the engine control module (ECM) and the body control module (UCH), possibly due to a power issue or a damaged CAN line.
