Title: NC+ 4K Decoder, Cyfrowy Polsat & Champions League: All-in-One Solution with VU+ Solo 4K?

Best answers

How can I receive nc+ and Cyfrowy Polsat on one 4K setup without running extra satellite cables, and will a VU+ Solo 4K let me use both platforms with recording?

Use a unicable converter/LNB: connect the unicable output to the Ultrabox and the normal output to the Polsat receiver, which avoids pulling extra cables and keeps the Ultrabox recording features [#17313983] A VU+ Solo 4K is not a good one-box solution for both nc+ and Polsat, because you would need two modules (Polsat and nc+) and multi-channel recording is blocked by module restrictions [#17314070] The VU+ Ultimo 4K was mentioned as a theoretical option because it has two module slots, but it still needs confirmation from the seller [#17314160]

    Hello,

I currently have nc + with a new 4K decoder, 80cm antenna, Inverto Wideband converter, 2 satellite cables. Everything runs smoothly without a problem. The problem, however, is that Polsat bought the Champions League and I can't reconcile to miss it. So I'm thinking of buying Cyfrowy Polsat ... I would like to ask for help, how can I solve it the easiest way? He is currently renting a house, so it is not a big idea to hang a second plate or run the next two wires. Probably it would be possible to simply twist the antenna cables to the desired decoder at the moment, but you agree that it would be quite annoying.

Is there any solution for me ??

I know that 4K is rather a bajer for now, but I think it is also the future, so I would not want to give it up.
Google suggest something about the vu + solo 4k decoder. Has anyone had contact with him? Do I understand that it is enough to just insert a card with nc + and a card from digital polsat and I have both platforms on one decoder?

    Or something different?

Do you often record programs while watching another one (on the same decoder)?
If not, then one wire to the decoder and it will whisk.

    Hi,
This is definitely a solution worth considering. Thanks!
However, I don't want to give up the possibility of recording. Especially now, when this decoder offers recording up to 3 channels simultaneously. So far, 3 channels not yet, but within a month I recorded 2 channels simultaneously. There is one more thing - the second decoder would mean 4 remote control (TV, receiver and 2 decoders). Not for me, but for my wife a problem.

You don't have to hang an additional antenna, but if you have the option of non-invasively releasing two additional cables, then you may be interested in such an LNB:

So 1 converter, but with 4 outputs for satellite cables. Does this converter support 4K?
Or is it possible for me to use my old Sharp converter? Will it be able to "plant" two converters on one antenna? Until Polsat does not introduce 4K, it should be OK.

You will NOT plant two LNBs on one antenna looking at the same point in the sky.

Ok, I can see such quatro converters with 4K support for PLN 39.00!
How did it happen that I paid PLN 200 in the nc + salon for the one I have now? Don't ask.

Such output with 4 wires, however, probably the most sensible one.
And what is the difference between the converter you sent and the one from the photo here? Except that one has one and the other two "heads".

Because the one from your photo is the so-called ZEZ, i.e. the converter for HotBird and Astra at the same time. And it's useless to you. One head looks at the hotbird, the other looks at the astra. And you need to have four outputs for hotbird.
    Search for "quad" or "quad".

Ok super. Thanks so much for your help!

And how is it with multiroom? Do you need more cables and decoders for this? Maybe I will buy one straight out for 8 outlets to secure my future?

I do not recommend. The signal must be split into these outputs to get the same signal level as from the double output, the surface of the antenna should increase.
A quad may already require a larger antenna.

And you see ... My antenna is now 80cm, and due to the fact that I live far in the north (Sweden) my signal is not the best. I remember that when I was installing it, the guy said that it would be better if it was at least one meter high. The current antenna may not even support the quadruple converter ... What size antenna do you recommend for 4, and which up to 8?

Buy a unicable converter, e.g. Inverto link . You connect the unicable output to the Ultrabox and the normal output to Polsat. You will not have to pull any cables and you will not lose the functionality of Ultrabox.

Pure heresy. What does the converter have to the size of the antenna? THREAD! The same will play on single, double, quadruple and vinegar. Only the quality of the converter is important. There are companies where quad gives better quality than a single.

    It's such a converter (I think) I have ??
Which is unicable and which is normal? Here they are marked V and H.

Yes, but on the Allegro I just had an auction with this converter signed as Wideband Unicable. Your link wasn't there yet, that's why I asked. Who asks not stray.

In the decoder tutorial there is actually a "full configuration" option using one antenna cable - unicable. The range of advanced functions (recording 3 programs) depends on the "configuration details". The cable is connected to the SAT1 / V output.

You can see that they have an idea of what they are selling. Like wideband it's not unicable.

    Approx,
And are you able to say something about this vu + solo 4K decoder?
Is there any such possibility as two platforms on one decoder?

I never had it in my hand. You would have to have 2 modules: Polsat and NC +, so vu + solo 4K is out. And the recording of several channels is out because of module restrictions.

In this case, the model above - vu + ultimo 4K has 2 inputs for modules, so in theory it could work.
It's best to contact the seller of these vu + for clarification.

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around integrating Cyfrowy Polsat with an existing NC+ 4K setup to access Champions League matches without installing additional satellite dishes or running extra cables. Users suggest using a quad LNB with four outputs to connect multiple decoders, allowing for simultaneous recording of channels. The VU+ Solo 4K decoder is mentioned as a potential solution, but it requires two modules for dual platform access, which may limit recording capabilities. Alternatives like unicable converters are also discussed to minimize cable management while maintaining functionality.

FAQ

TL;DR: Want nc+ and Cyfrowy Polsat on one dish while still recording 3 programs? The Ultrabox supports "full configuration using one antenna cable - unicable." [Elektroda, jk_34, post #17314025]

Why it matters: If you rent or can’t run new cables, this guide shows how to combine nc+ Ultrabox 4K and Cyfrowy Polsat on one dish without losing PVR features.

Quick Facts

How do I add Cyfrowy Polsat without running more cables?

Use a Unicable LNB that has one Unicable (SCR/dCSS) port and one legacy port. Connect the Unicable port to the nc+ Ultrabox 4K. Connect the legacy port to the Cyfrowy Polsat decoder. You keep Ultrabox functionality and avoid pulling new cables. [Elektroda, andpol 33, post #17313983]

Which LNB should I buy for one Hot Bird dish and two decoders?

For a single satellite, choose either a quad LNB (four independent outputs) or a Unicable LNB. Do not use a monoblock/ZEZ, which is for two satellites (Hot Bird + Astra). "You need to have four outputs for hotbird." [Elektroda, sanfran, post #17313899]

Can I still record three channels on nc+ Ultrabox 4K with one cable?

Yes. The Ultrabox offers a Unicable one-cable mode noted as "full configuration." Multi-recording (up to three programs) depends on the configuration details. Connect the feed to the SAT1/V input as indicated. Configure Unicable user bands in the menu. [Elektroda, jk_34, post #17314025]

Can I mount two LNBs for Hot Bird on one dish to avoid switching?

No. Two LNBs cannot both view the same orbital slot from one reflector with correct geometry. Use a quad or Unicable LNB instead to add outputs or single-cable capability. [Elektroda, sanfran, post #17313854]

Does a quad or octo LNB force me to use a bigger dish?

No. Converter type does not set required dish size; signal footprint and link margin do. Focus on LNB quality and dish alignment. As one expert put it, “Only the quality of the converter is important.” [Elektroda, andpol 33, post #17313983]

Is a wideband LNB the same as Unicable?

No. "Like wideband it’s not unicable." Wideband provides separate full-band H/V outputs, while Unicable uses channelized user bands over one coax. Verify your hardware supports the exact technology before buying. [Elektroda, andpol 33, post #17314031]

Will a wideband LNB work with typical nc+/Polsat set-top boxes?

Not directly. Wideband LNBs require a compatible dCSS/Unicable II multiswitch or suitable FBC tuner path. Standard receivers expect universal or Unicable signals. Connect a wideband LNB straight to a typical STB and you’ll likely get no signal. "Inverto Wideband LNB – Product Page"

Will VU+ Solo 4K or Ultimo 4K let me use both nc+ and Polsat on one box?

You’d need two CI/CI+ modules (one per platform). VU+ Solo 4K has one CI slot, so it’s out. Ultimo 4K has two CI slots, but module restrictions limit multi-channel recording. “Recording of several channels is out because of module restrictions.” [Elektroda, andpol 33, post #17314070]

How do I wire a Unicable LNB for two decoders?

  1. Fit a Unicable LNB that offers one Unicable output and one legacy output.
  2. Connect the Unicable output to the nc+ Ultrabox 4K input.
  3. Connect the legacy output to the Cyfrowy Polsat decoder. That’s it—no new cables needed. [Elektroda, andpol 33, post #17313983]

How do I set the nc+ Ultrabox 4K to Unicable mode?

Enter the tuner setup and select Unicable/SCR as the LNB type. Assign the required user bands, then connect the cable to SAT1/V. As the manual notes, it supports a "full configuration" using one antenna cable. [Elektroda, jk_34, post #17314025]

Do I need a "4K LNB" for UHD channels?

No. LNBs convert RF; they don’t care about video resolution. There’s no such thing as a dedicated HD/4K LNB. What matters is a quality universal or Unicable LNB, correct dish size, and alignment. "SatCure: There is no such thing as an HD LNB"

What dish size makes sense in northern Sweden for Hot Bird 13E?

Check the HOTBIRD coverage map for your location’s EIRP. In northern Sweden, a larger dish improves rain margin; typical choices are around 90–120 cm. Align carefully and use a quality LNB to stabilize weaker signals. "Eutelsat HOTBIRD Footprints"

Can I split one LNB output to two decoders with a passive splitter?

No. Satellite tuners control the LNB with voltage and tone. A passive splitter causes conflicts, loss of control, and signal failure. Use separate LNB outputs, a multiswitch, or Unicable instead. "SatCure: Why you cannot split a satellite feed"

How many tuners can Unicable support, and which standard should I look for?

Unicable I (EN50494) commonly offers up to 8 user bands. Unicable II/dCSS (EN50607) supports up to 32 user bands on one coax. For multi-tuner PVRs and expansion, choose Unicable II-capable LNBs or multiswitches. "Inverto Unicable II Technology"
