Hey! I am refreshing my desktop computer. I am looking for components for years, guided by the quality / price ratio.

    I chose the processor AMD Ryzen 5 2600 .
Got into my eye RAM: Kingstone HyperX Predator 8GB [1x8GB 2666MHz DDR4 CL13 XMP DIMM]

What motherboard do you recommend for these components? Whether Asus PRIME B350M-A can it be or aim at something else?
I watched Gigabyte, but such GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 seems a bit worse equipped (eg less USB).

The set will work with my old GTX750 graphics.
    Greetings,
    Patryk

    Welcome.
If you buy a 300 series CD, you may need to update the BIOS - make sure that the seller can perform such an update in case of it. The 300 series chipsets were created for the 1000 series Ryzens, of course the 2000 series works without any problems, but as they have a new BIOS.

As for the RAM, I suggest DDR4-3200, AMD platforms are able to make use of higher clock speeds.

    Thank you for your response.

Choosing RAM I was guided by the maximum clock speed supported by this motherboard given to komputronik (it's like only 2666 MHz, now I see on the manufacturer's website that 3200 is OC) and very low CL of this bone, which is 13-15-15. In terms of CL, it beats competition.
However, faster such a computer (with this processor and motherboard) will go with RAM such as G.SKILL RipjawsV 8GB Black [2x4GB 3200MHz DDR4 CL16 Skylake DIMM]?

I was interested in computer components years ago, but from what I remember lower CL could give more than higher MHz ... are not I right?

    Greetings,
    Patryk

Most articles and comparisons show that there is more gain at speed than at low delays. The plus is that by releasing fast memory you can usually lower the CL, so I will not be surprised if DDR4-3200-CL16 easily goes as DDR4-2666-CL14 (although this is a matter of a given module). And, by the way, faster bones with a more standard CL will be cheaper than slower ones with high CR. If something stands out from the standard, you pay for it in addition :)

Thanks, I've found the 3200 MHz RAM.

The last question is: Will not the computer even turn on with this Ryzen 5 2600 processor without updating the BIOS of this motherboard? Will I be able to update the BIOS myself, eg from a pendrive?

For AMD, memory on the Samsung B-die systems was highly recommended. Enter this password into your favorite search engine, then you may find something useful. I do not know if something has changed in this topic, because I did not follow it so much, but it is still worth watching.

The computer may not turn on, i.e. it may not be possible to update the BIOS if an unsupported processor is connected, so I wrote about this update that it is valid before buying :)

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around selecting a suitable motherboard for the AMD Ryzen 5 2600 processor, with a focus on the Asus PRIME B350M-A and Gigabyte GA-AB350M-Gaming 3. Users emphasize the importance of BIOS updates for compatibility with the Ryzen 2000 series and the potential need for higher RAM speeds, suggesting DDR4-3200 over the initially considered DDR4-2666. The conversation highlights the significance of memory latency (CL) versus speed, with a consensus that faster RAM generally yields better performance. Recommendations include using Samsung B-die memory for optimal results. Concerns about the ability to update the BIOS without an initial compatible processor are also discussed.
