    Hello,

    I wanted to ask you dear users about a bothering topic. Namely, looking to buy Windows 10 I looked at the most popular auction site and one thing surprised me. Namely, people sell, and buy a lot Windows 30, 50, 90 PLN, etc.

    I don't know exactly, but could anyone explain what this is about? I guess it is on the verge of legality ... are they the OEM version? Any old keys, or is it something wrong with me that I am looking for a PLN 400 system, and it's better to go the other way?

    Thank you in advance for your kind answers

    This is legal. According to EU law, the license from a recycled computer can be reused and these are the cheap licenses. Search for a topic many times on the internet.

    @siewcu

    are you sure? Because I also read a lot of threads on this topic and the conclusion was that, according to the license of these Windows should not be sold in this way and that since breaking the license does not bother us, we might as well save a few more by simply downloading a pirate.

    Anyway, it looks so nice: https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/topic3478802.html

    The license entry you are writing about does not comply with EU law, so the fact that there is no practical application. I also read about it, but not only threads and I also came across lawyers' statements on this subject, and despite the theoretical breach of the contract, they are not broken in practice.

    Reselling a used Windows is legal under EU law, but incompatible with the User License (EULA) for MS OEM systems. This means that you can legally sell such a system, legally buy such a system, but MS does not have to be interested in activating such a system on another computer, because it is specified in the license terms, which the user must accept.

    There are also university licenses, also often sold, their resale is also rather incompatible with EULA.

    You do not agree with the license? You don't have to accept, you don't have to use and you don't have to buy MS systems, no one forces you. Not only Microsoft produces operating systems, after all, so there is no problem.

    Of course, you can also bring Microsoft to the court for unfair practices ... But probably after so many years someone would do it and this EULA, by order of wise heads, would be changed in some way? :)

    In summary, you can debate about the legality of such a purchase (and break this debate in the context of legality against the law and in the context of compliance with the user license that is acceptable), but if we want to debate about the usefulness of such a system - it's better to buy a normal version from a proven seller than then swing with a system that does not want to activate and its usefulness is generally similar to a system downloaded without a license.

    Buying a new computer I would prefer to take FV for a natural person and such a system, and the money saved on the box to invest in equipment or use for another purpose ... But here debating does not make sense at all :) And so we will not reach anything, we know what and how, so we are left here talking about the morality of such purchases ... And this is rather not advisable.

    Provided that such a license will be sold to only one customer and not dozens or more as usual. Hence the price, many people buy one key and the seller has a net profit.

    Up to 10 are further keys from each version of the system from 7 up, people probably sell back 8, etc. and therefore it is at a price at which :)

    Of course, but I count on the seller's honesty. I know from some sources that the number of computers utilized in Europe is huge, so if someone has a good source, they can have a lot of these keys ... Besides, if I get FV from the seller, frankly I am not interested in any problems. And to be honest, I really hope that by buying such a license I will get the key for myself without being one of many. Anyway, I also have the right to enforce compensation from the seller (even in the form of a refund of PLN 30), but here we enter into strange polemics and my quite specific approach to certain matters :)

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the legality and affordability of purchasing Windows 10 licenses, particularly through auction sites where prices can be as low as 30 PLN. Users debate the legitimacy of these low-cost licenses, with some asserting that EU law permits the resale of licenses from recycled computers, while others argue that such sales violate Microsoft's End User License Agreement (EULA). The conversation highlights the distinction between legal resale under EU law and the potential issues with activation and compliance with Microsoft's licensing terms. Participants also express concerns about the morality of purchasing such licenses and the reliability of sellers, emphasizing the importance of obtaining a valid invoice for protection against potential issues.
