Hello, if there is a wrong department here, please move to the appropriate one, please do not delete it, thank you.
So, going to the bottom, I am looking for a lathe that is supposed to serve me at home, maybe I do not have any specific things to turn, but a few times a year I visit a turner, time, commuting, etc., it slowly tires me and for a stupid 3cm bushing I do not need any equipment for 20,000.
In general, case 1 I am a total layman in this topic, also if I write something wrong, please correct it.
I need a lathe for some dupes, such as a 2-3 cm bushing, rolling a small roller, etc. on a mass scale, I will definitely not go.
And here there is a problem because when searching a bit, most recommend the Polish stimulant, but what for 3-4 thousand you can probably buy a corpse from the 80's, and without any idea what to look at, you can probably buy something that will not pay off to resuscitate.
So there is probably a new Chinese in this price range and here the question is whether anyone has any specific models recently on a well-known portal.
Examples of probably something like better quinols:
    FD 150 / E Proxxon lathe
    CORMAK TYTAN 500 universal lathe
    Proma SM300E lathe

And a lot of different names, I gave examples what do you think is worth it or it's a waste of money?

    Forehead,
watch these videos and a whole lot more about lathes, turning and everything else.
    Also read here https://www.cnc.info.pl/

I have Techmig LD 550, it is enough for amateur use.

    Greetings

I have already read a lot of topics and I got confused. Anyway, I bet on the purchase of a new one, I wanted a proven one, but I can see that all old Chinese are no longer available, eg Einhell and techmig, I thought about this 550.
    Currently available manufacturers
    CORMAK, at least TITAN 500
    PROMA
    TITANIUM 520
    BASS POLAND
    GREMMINGER
    JAGER GERMAN
    HOLZMANN
    ERBA

    Generally up to PLN 4,000
    https://allegro.pl/listing?where=%2Flisting&s...=tokarka&order=m&bmatch=baseline-com-1-1-0725

Has anyone dealt with any company that still has new lathes available for purchase?
From what I can see it is probably all china for one hoof, only the names changed, although they attracted attention
CORMAK and PROXXON but is it something better or just good marketing?
Proxxon at the expense of the distance from the canines to 150mm costs PLN 2400 and 250mm costs PLN 5300 but I think this is probably the best choice?

Have you clearly defined the parameters that interest you?
Just such as distances from the centers, diameter of the passage, the distance of the spindle axis from the bed, etc.
It would be good to start with that, the 150 mm to the canine is a tiny bit for me.
The Proxxon is theoretically better, but for the price, with such parameters, for amateur turning, I would not buy it.

Determine as solidly as possible what details you plan to process, use your imagination, think about what can happen to you, then you will know what lathe you need :)

I think that nothing will be 30-50cm longer, and the diameter will be 8cm. As I wrote, a 3cm long sleeve with a diameter of 2-3cm needed for some small ones, just such dupes, and if you get something bigger, it can be with a small margin. For fat cases, I will continue to go to the turner.
This proxoon has very little, but for small details it would probably be enough, but for this amount you can have 350mm or 500mm on the fangs, which would be a spare in case of some longer cases.
    I spotted something like this:
https://www.basspolska.com/mala-tokarka-stolowa-do-metalu.html something like a copy of einhell
https://www.cormak.pl/tokarka-uniwersalna-cormak-tytan-500/produkt-1408 like something better and 500mm spacing
    And:
GREMINGER like AUSTRIA? ale probably made in china a designed in AUSTRIA :D
https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/topic3329208.html I have 50km to them, I can see them on the spot, although I probably won't check anything big, but I can feel, twist, move, or are there any loose pieces already as new ...
// Edit it will not be good because I have read "Precision mini lathe Gremminger GT 350 HD of Austrian production for turning in soft metals (aluminum, silver, gold, platinum, brass, copper, etc.), wood (MDF, HDF, laminated boards, plywood, solid wood, etc), acrylic, plex, PVC, PCB, laminates, plastics. "

I do not know the distance between the teeth, let's say 350mm is enough, but if 500 or 550mm will be ok, the amount is up to 4,000, diameter up to 80mm should be enough.

The fact for these Polish prices seems to be out of space, once there were 2-3 thousand TSA16 and 20 of them I thought about.
I do not have the opportunity to look for a stimulant because I do not know it completely and I will probably buy scrap that is not worth repairing, so I prefer to start with 3k for a new one to learn what it is about and in some time, if it is not enough for me, I will look for a drug, knowing how working on it and what to check.

On the forum from the link I sent earlier, there is also the "exchange" section, where if someone sells a lathe, he is probably in better condition than a new Chinese.

One more thing - how much space do you have in the workshop?

This Proxxon 150mm is probably tiny, it will fit on a washing machine, but for a lathe, the bigger and heavier the better.
You rejected this Gremminger on the grounds that it is unsuitable for steel?
Most of these little ones will be like that, you need more stiffness and weight for steel.
Ld 550, Nutool and the like will do. The prices are similar, maybe choose the one with better equipment, engine, power, size. Maybe something will be close to you so that you can see it in person.

I would not recommend Holzman, I have their milling machine - very poor performance.
I bought a lathe Bernardo - also Chinese, but workmanship is much better, it has been working for me for 3 years and there are no problems with it.

I will look at these cnc stimulants, but I will rather bet on a new one because I have no experience what it should look like so that it would not be a corpse.
I even have space for a colossus for mass work, but I do not need such a place, someone who knows about it would have to watch with me, and I do not want to put 8-10 thousand on scrap metal worth 2 thousand.
Yes, I want her to roll a piece of steel bar in the event of a 'W', which is why Gremminger is out of the question.
    Barnardo interested me:
https://www.hafen.pl/produkty/tokarka-hobby-v,53,2,124 for 400v or 230V choices, probably the same. Price 4,300 probably approx.

I am not sure, but probably with three phases it is easier to insert an inverter.

This Bernardo, apart from the price (~ PLN 1300 more), differs from my chip tub and theoretically hardened bed, the rest is identical to a Chinese woman :D

Scope of delivery - among other things, a bottom bracket with a sled but they did not write whether the motor and wiring are :D

I have PROFI 550 LZ - 230V, but the inverter has a built-in and smooth speed control. Unfortunately, since I bought it, it has become a lot more expensive. Prices can be negotiated a bit - I was only able to 5%.

This Profi is cool, but my limit for such a toy is 4,000 + a few hundred zlotys max.
If I am to give 8-10k, I would prefer to ask my turner to come with me and buy a large stimulant.
For now, I will buy a new small and probably Chinese one, because nothing else will be found, I will look at the portals that are available, but probably most of the hoof is made.

Is it better to wait and look for something calmly on advertising portals?
And what do you recommend any specific machines or everything goes as long as it is solidly made and in good condition for a 30-40 year old machine.

About a year ago I bought the Polish TSB-20 for PLN 4,000. The condition of the lathe itself, after being assessed by a colleague of the turner, turned out to be very good (bed, play, etc.). The lathe chuck was worn - she got a new Polish. Now I am trying to change the drive to an inverter one and I think it will serve me for many years.

With stimulants it depends a lot on luck what you get, I will give myself this month I will look for tsb16 and tsb 20 to 100km from me I will see maybe something interesting will happen.

Gentlemen, how about the OUS-1 I got for the price of 1500, it is a milling lathe used by an elderly gentleman to turn the rotors, the center distance from what I googled is 260mm not much but for the bushings it is enough at the beginning, it has to collect everything that is there for it bought, I think the price is adequate, I arranged for a visual inspection.
If anyone has any instructions for this lathe and what should be included in the set.

The search for TSB 16 and TSB 20 turns out to be difficult, the price of the cheapest TSB 20 is 4300 and it looks like a pile of scrap metal 16 PLN cheaper by PLN 1000 also do not go crazy, but I do not stop looking for TSB20 but I will not despise the 16 in good condition.
TSB20 are in nice condition, but over PLN 5500, which is probably a lot for a small lathe, because for the amount of 6000, you can look for something with a center distance of 1 meter or is it wrong?
As I wrote, the place does not limit me, but the budget is 5000 at the most, I was also thinking about TUM 25 prices as for TSB 20, but the conditions are much worse. It's hard to find a 50 year old lathe in good condition.

I am constantly wondering how CORMAK TYTAN 500 would work at the beginning

Anyone know what this lathe is? It is worth buying it, there is no mode to drive the screw and without it, it does not thread to get it somewhere?

I have one, I also have a few spare feed modes, I even put them up once, but there was no response.
A nice machine for general cargo, I have it on the inverter, and the speed is regulated nicely.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around selecting a lathe for home workshop use, particularly for small-scale projects like creating bushings. The user expresses concerns about the high costs of quality lathes and the potential pitfalls of purchasing older models. Recommendations include considering new Chinese lathes within a budget of PLN 4,000, with specific brands and models mentioned such as Proxxon, Cormak, and Nutool. Participants emphasize the importance of assessing the lathe's specifications, such as center distance and spindle passage, and suggest exploring used options for better quality. The conversation also highlights the need for careful evaluation of used machines to avoid purchasing subpar equipment.
