Hello, I'm going to buy an Opel Vivaro from 2008 but I'm hesitating over a diesel engine, I mean exactly 2.0 CDTi 84 kW and 2.5 CDTi 107 kW, the most I would like to know about the failure rate of these engines, combustion and their durability. best regards

Search 2.0 petrol 120HP + gas. Even without gas, the car burns little gas, because 1 liter more than 1.9 or 2.0.
This 2.5 150KM already pushes nicely, but smokes already about 9 liters of ON = 45 PLN / 100km. Gas costs are max. 25 PLN / 100 km, so every diesel gets out, and for such a small 120HP bus it manages.

I do not know how on the Polish market but e.g. in Ireland 2.0 diesel in all Vivaro, Trafic or Primastar is a big failure because of, for example, injectors that fall into power. The issue of their exchange is also often a river topic. Personally, when it comes to diesel, I would prefer to buy three years older but with a 1.9 engine.

In general, engines are quite durable 1.9 good, but it is difficult to find now unexploited mega, 2.5 in vivaro is difficult to repair due to the tightness in the engine compartment (replacing the timing belt requires a good gymnastics etc ...) 2.0 good, actually annoying injectors that are often baked in head requires specialized equipment for pulling ..
