Today was an automatic update of WIN XP.
After this update, I can not start Word and Excel.
    Corel works.
    Firefox and internet work
A message appears: no GetDataFormatEx procedure in the Kernel32.dll library
The system is not adapted to these applications.

    How to fix it ?
I have an original XP CD delivered with XP.

There is no update for XP unless you have buried the registry.

Uninstall any updates that have been installed.

They send them from time to time.

I do not bury in the registers because:
    1. I do not know about it
    2. The XP system works "super" and does not even need it.

You can not communicate with you! You can not write what has been installed, I wrote that you have uninstalled the updates, you have not written anything about it.

    > Does it install office 2010 or windows XP?

I do not know what you mean, you already have Office and XP installed, so what are you writing about?

    Faulty jet file Kernel32.
    Quote:
no GetDataFormatEx procedure in the Kernel32.dll library
If this file is installed before XP, I can copy it from the XP disc.
If Kernel32 is modified by office 2010 then I have to install office 2010 twice.
Do you have knowledge about this?

So find out! Enter the update history and see what has been installed recently. In add-remove programs, select showing updates.

Watpie to let Kernel32 be flawed as you said, you installed some libraries for a newer system, and I doubt that it would have to do with Windows Update.
But it will be hard for you if you do not know anything.

Office can be reinstalled and checked if it will work.

Hello to my company in the company more and more computers from xp having office 2010 has this problem probably got some patch for the office that is scattering it but I still can not figure out which one.

    Added after 5 [minutes]:

KB2863821 and KB4461522. From what I read, these patches should be uninstalled and everything goes back to normal.

    Added after 13 [minutes]:

However, from my observations it appears that KB4461522 is the culprit.

Why do you handle how you have no idea about IT.
You will not add anything to or remove from catalogs.
    Lack of access.

They installed it the day before yesterday.
    There is no update date.
I can not even delete office 2010.
There is information that office 2003 (which I never had) is damaged.

I have already had 20 computers in my company. You need to uninstall KB4461522, and after the trouble.

The reason is the 2010 office update.
    Microsoft's error or deliberate action.

Quick Facts

What causes the “no GetDataFormatEx in KERNEL32.dll” error on Windows XP with Office 2010?

Use Add/Remove Programs with updates visible. 1. Open Add/Remove Programs and tick “Show updates.” 2. Locate the latest Microsoft Office 2010 update entry. 3. Click Remove and restart Windows. Relaunch Word/Excel to confirm the fix. [Elektroda, Kolobos, post #17560188]

Which update should I uninstall to fix Word/Excel crashes?

Usually you do not need to. If Word/Excel still fail after removing the update, reinstall Office 2010 to verify. “Office can be reinstalled and checked if it will work.” [Elektroda, Kolobos, post #17560188]

Why am I seeing updates on XP if Microsoft ended support?

Because the problematic package is an Office 2010 update, not a Windows XP OS update. Removing that Office update resolves the launch failures. [Elektroda, CYRUS2, post #17579628]
