    Hello
I am in the process of putting together a lamp based on fluorescent lamps . The ballasts have DALI control , and here is the question , what controllers do I need to buy so that I can program e.g. dimming and brightening in time .
    Greetings

You need to buy a DALI controller, module and power supply, software is probably generally available .

    Hello,
    here is the link: https://www.wago.com/pl/dali

But I would still suggest contacting a Wago representative:

    https://www.wago.com/pl/kontakt .

will probably advise but also the price can be "discussed".

@jerzy b.. I don't know about this but what goal do you want to achieve by using a lamp with a DALI module? What do you mean by writing about lamp dimming control? Theoretically, such lamps are equipped with dedicated fluorescent lamps ( or at least they were) , at the first start-up the fluorescent lamp system should be "warmed up" for 24 hours. The brightness level is controlled automatically by a detector which is assigned to the zone. The detector also detects movement, so there is no need to mount switches in the system. When assembled correctly, the system is maintenance-free. In the case of a small number of lamps, the entire system can be set by remote control.

    Which ballasts do you use?
In general, dali is designed so that a central controller is not needed.
A dali standard control device (switch/switch), an actuator (ballast) and a bus power supply are sufficient. Smooth dimming/brightening is realised by the control device thanks to the fade(time) function.

Topic summary

The discussion addresses the selection of DALI ballast controllers for dimming fluorescent lamps. It is recommended to use a DALI controller, a DALI module, and a suitable power supply to enable programming of dimming and brightening functions over time. The WAGO DALI controller and DALI Multimaster module are suggested as compatible components, with links provided for purchase and further technical support. Programming typically requires dedicated software, which is generally available. The DALI system is designed to operate without a central controller, using standard control devices (switches) and actuators (ballasts) connected via a bus power supply. Smooth dimming is achieved through the fade(time) function inherent in the control devices. Some fluorescent lamp systems include automatic brightness control via detectors and motion sensors, reducing the need for manual switches. Proper system assembly ensures maintenance-free operation. Additional components like RGB dimmers for Modbus are also mentioned for extended control options.
