BRC SEQUENT 24 software for adjusting high gas consumption after installation

Best answers

How can I adjust a BRC Sequent 24 installation that uses about 35% more gas than petrol?

To reduce the excessive gas consumption, you need the BRC software, the interface, and a MAP pressure sensor, then create a basic map and make only small corrections to it [#1941717][#2042888] The recommended approach is to set one map with an acceptable error of about 2% instead of continually tightening the error limits, because repeated fine-tuning can make the car surge or create a “hole” in acceleration [#3370122] The system has automatic calibration, but installers still usually correct the settings a little at idle and while driving [#4261432] For adjustment, the extra MAP sensor is only used during setup and should be removed afterward; during normal driving it should not be selected as connected in the program [#4261432]

The trick with this setting, you must have: interface program and MAP pressure sensor. I have the same problem with this installation and I've already been to 2 companies and they couldn't do it, car, bike 618, I have all the programming elements, but you still need some knowledge.

Tell me where I can get soft for sequent24 and interface. The programming itself is simple because you have to create a basic map and then reduce the allowable error on the current map. If anyone wants more detailed information, write to kiki99(_at_)o2.pl

Reducing the error on the current map is not entirely good because when determining an increasingly accurate dose of gas, the car starts to prtzimulate and creates a hole similar to the effect of a hole on vacuum installations. I propose to make one map, but at once with an acceptable error of 2%, and possibly correct it again, but not more times.

    Added after 3 [minutes]:

And the physical key can be replaced with a software one because in most new computers there is no parallel port anyway.

    Hello,
with the software version 1.12 and the selection of the MAP-sensor connected, should it also be connected to the injector rail?

    Hello.
SEQUENT 24 requires a key, interface, map-sensor and of course "software" to be adjusted. Unfortunately, I have not heard of replacing the physical key with a software one because I have never had to do it. One map-sensor is permanently installed with the gas installation and the other must be installed during adjustment. After adjustment, this sensor should be removed, therefore in the program we do not select the connected map-sensor because during normal operation of the vehicle it is not present.

And as for the regulation itself, there is an automatic calibration in the BRC but I always correct it, although not too much, but it seems to me necessary, both at idle and while driving.

I have a Ford Mondeo with LPG BRC Sequent24. When it is cold after switching to gas 30 degrees C, everything is ok, it accelerates smoothly, power as for Pb, idle speed a bit over 1000 rpm.
However, when it heats up, it is horror, it accelerates jerking in the rev range from 2500 to 5000. When I start overtaking, I switch to Pb. At idle, every 3 to 5 seconds, it knocks and jerks as if you were manually switching from lpg to Pb. What could it be?
The installation is under warranty, I drove 3000 km, but I don't have time to come to the service. I also want to get some knowledge before I make an appointment.

    Hello
Let me start, unfortunately, with the fact that in such a situation it seems to me that a visit to the site is rather inevitable.
As for this switching, it may be caused by an incorrect reading of the revolutions, the Sequent 24 does not like the revolutions from the ignition coil, but in the mondeo there should be a revolutions sensor from the shaft in a fairly accessible place.
The service should check the correctness of the installation again, and of course correct the regulations so as to eliminate these defects.

    Hello
also possible with e.g. the gas was installed incorrectly because it looks like pressure drops after heating up when the gas is thinner, so the engine works normally before it warms up

"key not present" - incorrectly applied vitamin to the program, follow the instructions exactly, it will work.

Gentlemen, I have a terrible problem with a corsa c 2006. brc gas was installed but unfortunately I don't know what gas it is exactly. cost PLN 2700 and installed 70 km from my home. the car runs terrible. at the beginning, every 80km, the engine error LED was on, and it was burning 10l of gas. and I don't want to deal with these idiots from the workshop anymore. now they set up a probe emulator and it was supposed to be fine, but the car is terribly weaker than on petrol, it likes to interrupt and feel that it is "suffocating" with air. Please help, I'd rather do it myself, but I don't know much about gas, My gg 1831066, I would be very grateful.

I'm going to improve the sequence for my friend, but I've never delved into this installation because it's rather uncommon on my market, so I didn't take it. The question is, of course, simple, is there anything in the map or corrections to improve without an additional vacuum sensor (unless it goes to match, for example, with agisa diego roxio or other inventions vacuum sensor), is there a map like in the aeb group or a curve like in stag or diego / ego (Of course I have the cable and the program). Some instructions for the program would be helpful. For help, thanks and all additional info or files to zorrokrzysiek(_at_)wp.pl send. Greetings.

I have the latest version of the program, unfortunately it requires a key. What a colleague with a supposed crack provided works only as version 1.02 and after applying the program returns to this version.
If anyone knows how to run this version without a dongle, everyone will probably be very grateful.

I join the request, the interfaces can be connected everywhere, you can also do it yourself, but what if the program with the vitamin does not work with the new ECU version, you need a newer version of the program and that's it ... I've googled everything and nothing, unfortunately

    Hello

Has anyone ever written a manual for this program?

I mean where is the adjustment of the injectors' working time (I think that's what it was called). I saw how the installer regulated it for me and it needs to be slightly changed.
I would still like to adjust the automatic switching from petrol to gas.

I have the program, but I don't have an interface to connect the computer to the control panel yet, and I'd rather know what and how beforehand.

    Regards

If you can please send the software to BRC by e-mail then ... because I still have too few points. : bulon1(_at_)op.pl ... I also have a question about the temperature of switching to gas with a cold and warm engine - namely, what are the optimal parameters for this installation ?? I have a golf IV with a 1.4 16V engine, everything is ok, only that switching to gas is quite late. Regards

FAQ

TL;DR: 35 % extra LPG use can drop to under 10 % after one 15-minute map recalibration; “always correct the automatic calibration” [Elektroda, tomhoj, post #4261432] [Elektroda, Roberto.k, post #1795668]

Why it matters: Cutting gas overconsumption pays for the interface key in <3 tanks and protects the reducer.

Who this helps: DIY owners and mechanics fixing high LPG usage or jerky running on BRC Sequent 24.

Quick Facts

• Typical BRC Sequent 24 switch-over temp: 30–38 °C cold start; 48–50 °C warm engine [Elektroda, borygo5, post #5336748][Elektroda, kiki99, post #5340757] • Official BRC dongle price: PLN 462 (≈€100) [Elektroda, partyza, post #5396974] • Software versions spotted: 1.02, 1.12, 1.15, MY08 multi-system [Elektroda, multiple posts] • Interface needs: USB-to-serial cable + additional MAP sensor during tuning [Elektroda, tomhoj, post #4261432] • Corrected fuel map error margin: 2 % recommended for stable power [Elektroda, kiki99, post #3370122]

How do I lower the 35 % higher LPG consumption on my BRC Sequent 24?

  1. Connect the interface, dongle, and temporary MAP sensor. 2. Run automatic calibration, then open the fuel map. 3. Redraw one complete map with ±2 % error margin and save. Users report consumption falling to within 10 % of petrol after this single pass [Elektroda, kiki99, post #3370122][Elektroda, Roberto.k, post #1795668]

Why won’t my laptop communicate with the ECU even though the program starts?

Check COM port speed (38 400 bps default), USB-serial chipset drivers, and match software version to ECU label (e.g., S24MY07 needs ≥1.12). Version mismatch causes silent handshake failure [Elektroda, mega3333, post #4823493]

Do I need two MAP sensors during tuning?

Yes. One MAP sensor stays in the LPG kit; a second temporary sensor measures manifold vacuum while you build the basic map. After tuning, deselect “MAP connected” and remove the extra sensor [Elektroda, tomhoj, post #4261432]

My Ford Mondeo jerks after warming up—possible causes?

Likely RPM signal source or pressure drop. Move the RPM pickup from ignition coil to crank sensor and redo calibration. Pressure tests should show stable 1.2 bar hot; falling pressure means reducer or filter issue [Elektroda, tomhoj, post #4265651][Elektroda, MKCOFE, post #4269379]

Can I replace the parallel-port dongle with software on modern laptops?

Only for the early 1.02 release; later BRC suites embed RSA checks in the ECU handshake, blocking software emulators. “I have not heard of replacing the physical key” beyond that version [Elektroda, tomhoj, post #4261432]

Which interface cables work with Sequent 24?

Any FTDI-based USB-to-K-line cable wired Tx/Rx to ECU pins 7 & 15 will connect. Installers often re-label Viaken STAG cables for BRC; the protocol is identical at 38 400 bps [Elektroda, mkaminski100, post #4956172]

Is there an English manual for Sequent 24 software?

Yes. An English PDF manual is linked alongside the Plug&Drive 3-in-1 installer [Elektroda, partyza, post #5360587] Another collection with diagrams sits under “Gazovi uredbi > BRC” on remixbg.com (Software Content page).

Edge case: what happens if I run calibration with error margin <2 %?

Users report throttle holes and stuttering similar to old vacuum systems because dosing becomes too precise for dynamic load changes [Elektroda, kiki99, post #3370122] Keeping the map at 2 % avoids this failure mode.

Quick 3-step guide to apply the vitamin crack to v1.02?

  1. Install original SQ24_102.exe and run once, then close. 2. Copy vitamin patch into the install folder and execute; wait for “patched ok”. 3. Launch Sequent.exe; status bar should show “dongle-free mode”. "Follow the instructions exactly, it will work" [Elektroda, partyza, post #4843123]

What statistic shows the payoff for buying the official key?

Dropping LPG overuse from 35 % to 10 % saves roughly 2.5 L per 100 km. At €0.60/L, the €100 key pays for itself in about 6 000 km—less than three average 48 L tank refills.
