    Hello,

Has anyone dealt with the issue of the flashing red light in the Dyson V6?

After connecting the charger (26.1V 1A), the red light flashes and the battery does not charge.

Having nothing to lose, I took it apart and took a few measurements:

Each of the 6 cells has 4.6V - when measuring the entire bank it is 27.7V and the output from the electronics is 21.4V

Do these parameters mean that there are insufficient cell resources, or do they have a charging counter in the system so that it simply stops working?

The green LED lights up for a second after pressing the switch about 100 times

If the charger gives a lower voltage than the battery, how can it charge it?
What kind of cells are these? If Li-ion, they are overcharged.

    Hello,

Nominally, the battery is supposed to output 21.6V, this morning, after disassembling it, I connected an external 28V charger directly to the terminal + and -, hence a slightly higher voltage than from the company charger directly on the bank, after this procedure, the output of the system is 21.5V and the lamp red still flashing.
What I mean is whether it`s the fault of the batteries or the electronics - I was thinking about buying new cells, but if the problem is in the board, my actions will turn out to be in vain.

    these are Li-Ion cells

Try to discharge these cells (each one separately) to 3.6V.
Then check if they are charged with the original charger.

I discharged each cell to 3.6V and it`s still the same - the diode flashes red both when connecting the charger and after pressing the trigger, at the output from the board there is about 18V, which is a significant drop to the nominal 21.6V.

I discharged it with a car vacuum cleaner and I feel that the batteries have a good capacity - I also connected a portable 12V compressor and it seemed to work.

I have the same problem, does anyone know what`s causing it?

So the problem is probably in the electronics, not in the cells.

Today I connected a charger with a meter to the charging port and it seems that the electronics does not pass any current to recharge the batteries, nor does it send anything to the engine even after I charged the batteries, apart from the electronics.

I`m trying hard to find a magic "reset" button, but I feel like it won`t work and maybe I`ll turn the set of cells into a nice, capacious power bank. :)

Let`s leave the topic open, maybe someone will come up with something.

I have a battery that behaves in the same way. The cells seem to be functional, voltages range from 3.6 to 4 V. I am thinking about downloading a replacement board from ebay or bang. Has anyone used such electronic boards before?

On Aliexpress you can buy controller boards for DYSON faucets for both V6 and V8, of course, replacements and you need to pay attention to whether they have a balancer system, because they are also available without a balancer... and are available either with or without a switch.

The basic condition is that the charger must be original. If this is not the case, nothing will help, even with setting the voltage to 3 decimal places.
If it is original, just buy the electronics from a Chinese company.
That`s how Dyson figured it out. And as far as I know, no one has dealt with it. I had to buy three of these tiles...

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the issue of a flashing red light on the Dyson V6 vacuum while charging, indicating a potential battery or electronics failure. Users report that the battery cells measure around 4.6V each, with a total voltage of 27.7V, but the output from the electronics is significantly lower at 21.4V. Suggestions include discharging the cells to 3.6V and checking the original charger, as well as considering the possibility of a faulty electronic board rather than the cells themselves. Some participants mention the availability of replacement controller boards on platforms like eBay and Aliexpress, emphasizing the importance of using original chargers and ensuring the new boards have a balancer system.
