Hello, I have this question. I have one Sonoff switch left after doing the house lighting automation and I would like to use it to make a remote gate opener with my phone. Unfortunately, after switching it on, the switch continues to supply 230V. I need something that will connect the 2 wires together after switching on, but without passing on power. Can I buy something like this?

Such a thing is called a relay, you have to look for one with a 230V coil.

The cheapest way is to give it to an electrician friend, who will cut the tracks in the sonoff so that only the NO contact remains. I have done this several times. You can also look for instructions for such an operation on the web.

listen i am also interested in the best choice at a decent price.
I have a star shaped installation and my choice was F&Home RADIO(it has good logic and it programs itself like a PLC ) . I have all the actuators in the switchboard. I wanted to do everything on domoticz only why when I get a good product at a good price with updates. The choice is of course up to the investor.

You are starting to get pushy with this advertising. How much is this "decent" price mate?
Besides, the author already has the device. He only asks how to connect it. And here you come flying out with something completely different, for only.... ?

A simple solution is to connect a relay with a 230V coil to the sonoff output at a cost of approx. PLN 12 under the COM and NO contacts. Sonoff activates the coil of the relay and the relay activates its contacts - a simple and safe solution.

Conversion of a sonoff is also not a difficult subject, I often do it myself but these newer sonoffs do not have a board prepared for cutting a path as it used to be in previous versions.

Topic summary

To use a Sonoff switch for opening a gate without passing 230V, users can connect a relay with a 230V coil to the Sonoff output. This setup allows the Sonoff to activate the relay, which then connects the gate's wires without supplying power. Some users suggest modifying the Sonoff to retain only the normally open (NO) contact, although newer models may not support this modification. Various relay options are available at low costs, and some users recommend consulting an electrician for safe installation.
