[Solved] Zgemma h9s Enigma2, changed the OpenAtv software to OpenPli 8.6

expol1 77664 26
Best answers

Can I replace OpenATV on a Zgemma H9S with OpenPLi, and is it flashed the same way from USB?

Yes—on the Zgemma H9S you install OpenPLi by flashing the correct H9.S image from a USB pendrive, just like any other image install [#18087752] The thread points to an OpenPLi download for this box and notes the cited build as OpenPLi v7.1 for H9.S, so you need the image that matches your exact model [#18087752] Before changing software, make an OpenATV backup so you can restore your settings and channel list later [#18088109][#18089442] Because the receiver has only 256 MB of flash, keep extra data such as picons, EPG, or recordings on USB or microSD instead of relying on internal flash [#18088109][#18091470]

    I warmly welcome.
I would like to ask you about the possibility of changing the software to OpenPli. I like this soft more.
I wanted to ask: if I already have OpenApi installed, it installs OpenApi in the same way as when reinstalling OpenApi. ? will this edition of OpenPli work in Zgemma with Enigma2?
Thank you very much for the reply.

You upload the image normally from the pendrive.
Here you have OpenPLi v7.1: https://openpli.org/download/zgemma/H9.S
And here is a collection of all images for this tuner: https://www.sat-4-all.com/board/topic/163592-image-zgemma-star-airdigital/
Have you tested Egami? It seems to me that a layman is the best image.
OpenAPi? I hear it for the first time, and I have three tuners on Linux for several years. Enter the link from where it can be downloaded. Google is not spitting anything. Correct name?

oh, I mistook the name OpenATV :)
Thank you for the tips, I am just starting my adventure with enigma2 and I have already accidentally deleted the soft twice. Well, but you have to try somehow haha. This OpenATV is sooooo complicated, I came over from Gt Media and it was crying haha. What I like about OpenATV: clear and legible EPG with the channel logo, nice graphic layout and clear program description, and graphically advanced weather displayed with information about the program. What do I not like? too many plugins, no one knows what hehe, you tube very poor - I don't know how to log in even.
I will take into account and test the software you indicated. I got this APV from the tuner vendor, I also have a backup of the channel list to my liking. Now I have a like question: will I break something if I reinstall and then return to the ATV? I know it's a stupid question, but as I mentioned earlier, I'm just starting my adventure with enigma.

NO yet, I have had the tuner for several days. I looked in google graphics how this Egami looks, even cool graphically. If I install Egami, do I have to upload something there later? e.g. oscam, player, iptv? is it already packed? I have an independently connected mini tvbox with android and I am looking for a solution to log in to YT with zgemmy and play Ipla TVPlayer, I do not need the rest, I would get rid of it - I can set up OpenPli or Egami somehow?

    Load Egami first: http://image.egami-image.com/index.php?open=zgemmah9s
    Then maybe Hyperion: http://e2.pkteam.pl/index.php?dir=IMAGE%20ZGEMMA/HYPERION%206.4/
Although in my opinion Hyperion may turn out to be confusing for a beginner. Discussion about v6.4: http://pkteam.pl/viewtopic.php?f=131&t=10022
EPG can have several modes, e.g. graphic or multi. IN
Its appearance depends largely on the won Skin (skin).
Oscam must be installed, of course. Get it from FEED.
You will probably install Kodi too, because it's Linux. You just have to read what, how, where, when. I don't use it. For me, tuners are used to receive the SAT, not to test the water jets.
    Here's something about IPTV: https://www.sat-4-all.com/board/forum/317-e2iplayer-aka-iptv-player/

You always download and extract one, the newest file (you take the version and date into account), so in this case it will be "egami-8.3.0-zgemmah9s-20190507_usb.zip"
The rest of the files on the list are previous releases. This is the case with any image.

After configuring the tuner, go to Egami Buttons and briefly enter, e.g. graphic EPG under EPG, and long under EPG Multi EPG. Briefly, long is keeping your finger on the remote control buttons. If by default something is selected differently, delete first and then map it your way. If it is as I give it, test it.

For logos to appear on the channel list, you must enable them in the list settings. Otherwise, there won't be any in the EPG.

You can download the oscam under the blue button. I don't know if you need just the binary or all the configuration files, so you have to specify.

    more bin. just.
Thank you for such extensive help. I will follow the instructions, I hope I will not spoil anything, because my wife has already yelled so that I do not move anything because it will be worse haha I will wait for the second shift and have fun hehe. Once again, thank you very much when it comes to iptv, but I will stay with the mini tvbox, I have already got some grip there and on android, so more understandable ehhe. And this Egami is more easy to use for pushers like me? hehe
    oh, two more key questions:
if something cracks in this egami, whatever, will it install everything back after inserting the openatv pen?
How is the flash memory added via microsd? I put a micro sd card formatted to fat32 on the back and that's it, do I have to set something up in this openAtv? and egami?

It's a pity you only bought the tuner with 256MB flash. This is very little for the 21st century. Apart from the image, you won't put much in there.
Here is a description of how to extend: http://plff.webd.pl/blu/index.php?action=down...0Flash%20Zgemma%20h9.zip&directory=TAKIE_TAM&
It's best to make an OpenATV backup and then you will restore everything you have there.
In my opinion, Egami is the most suitable soft for the beginning.
Then install only the binary and upload your Oscam files using any FTP client to / etc / tuxbox / config: https://www.vuplus4k.com/tutorial-how-to-install-oscam-on-egami/

Thank you, dear colleague, for your help. I will let you know how it went with the new soft. This flash is black magic, I will first read the manual dry and then take a chance :) I did something similar once in the dark and everything disappeared from the tuner haha.

Thanks a lot, how good I have the support of the disfigurement :) I uploaded Egami, I must admit that it is very easy to use. As for epg art, I know you need to download some skins. Tried for testing, back to OpenATV and it came back. The problem is that when I turn off Zgeme from the network and turn it on again, EGAMI appears on the home screen first and then the OpenATV home page turns on. How can I remove it?
Can we switch to a private interview?

What you are describing looks like you've copied the bootlogo to OpenATV files. Check the graphics to see if you have mistakenly changed the pictures.
You can browse and download skins, e.g. from:
    https://www.sat-4-all.com/board/forum/288-enigma2-skiny/
    https://www.linuxsat-support.com/board/873-enigma2-skins/
In this form, they will have the extension .ipk or tar.gz.
Then you install it with the appropriate command https://www.sat-4-all.com/board/topic/27866-telnet-przydatne-commands
Possibly from an add-on server built into image.
We can move to PW, but Zgemma is popular equipment and many people have problems. Maybe the thread serves others. Make up your mind.

Ok, you are right, let it also serve others because it is quite complicated equipment.
    internick wrote:

I admit that I am afraid to rummage around looking for something I do not know. I will support something even more, and only then will it be. Since it does not interfere with the operation of the tuner, I am not moving yet. I did this: I uploaded Egami to the pen, connected to the tuner - holding the power on + reset button - the light is flashing - I let it go. Later when I restored OpenATV the same. Now the Egami website appears first, and then OpenAtv.
For now, I will have a dry look at the skins that are available and note, I want to create graphics similar to the ATV.
Does a colleague know how to add a logo to the EPG puls2? only this channel has no logo? and one more thing all the channels are normal with only one very loud volume.

You can download skins from the links above (you can see the details nicely there), upload them with an FTP client to the / tmp folder and install them from MENU or from the console.
Read list with DreamboxEdit. Right click on a channel. Copy the sender's credentials. Download the missing picon, e.g. from https://www.lyngsat-logo.com/
Give it a name by pasting the sender's credentials. Move the file to the rest.

Yes, RMB, then save the image as. Call it this string references.
With 256 MB flash, you should have a flash drive or card installed. Do you have?
And then you keep picons, e.g. / media / usb / picon.
You should also download EPG there - after first configuring the plugin.

so now I will not change anything, I will not create a picon file?
    I did this:
    1. I downloaded the logo on the desktop to PNG according to the photo 2 above.
2.I changed the name of the logo with the data copied from photo 1 "Copy sender's references"
    3. I don't see where these picons are in my resources :( I have sent these resources to you on priv.

Then do not expand the flash memory yet, just do it as external memory. Such an additional disk for picons, EPG, recordings, etc.
Now look for picons in / usr / share / enigma2 / picon or / etc / usr / enigma2 / picon (depends on image) - you enter with FTP client from computer.

Record a video of what it looks like.
Describe exactly how you uploaded the image, i.e. did you put the files straight from the website (official address or some forum?) On a formatted USB flash drive, were there any folders already there, what was the upload procedure like (from the MENU level or from a disabled tuner? you pressed keys, etc.).

I downloaded Egami from the site you recommended, I exported the files to a formatted pen to fat32, then connected to the tuner and holding the reset + switch until the red and white light flashes and I let go of everything. It started to upload, after some time Egami started, I went through the basic setup procedure. Later I wanted to go back to OpenATV, I uploaded a formatted pen again a software from a hardware seller with different settings and plugs. The same procedure, switch + reset and uploaded. When it first started up, there was the egami boot image first, then ATV, and it is still the case today. This happens only when I disconnect the power from the tuner and turn it on, Atv turns on immediately from the standby position.

Attach this file publicly. Nothing irritable there, and maybe some of the colleagues will find out what's going on.
This soft ATV is definitely not clean, but with some fuzz that you don't use. It is also not clear from the materials what version it is. The latest OpenATV is v6.3: http://images.mynonpublic.com/openatv/current/index.php?open=zgemmah9s
The image upload procedure itself seems to be correct.

FAQ

TL;DR: 256 MB of internal flash leaves <35 % free space after a clean OpenATV 6.3 install [Elektroda, internick, post #18088109] “Egami is the most suitable soft for the beginning.” [Elektroda, internick, post #18088109] Reflashing Zgemma H9.S from USB takes ≈4 min and is reversible [Elektroda, internick, post #18087752]

Why it matters: Picking the right image and storage setup prevents crashes and boot-logo mix-ups.

Quick Facts

• Zgemma H9.S internal flash: 256 MB soldered eMMC [Elektroda, internick, post #18088109] • Typical image size (OpenATV 6.3): ≈130 MB compressed, ≈170 MB unpacked “images.mynonpublic.com” • Recommended USB/µSD for picons & EPG: ≥4 GB, FAT32 [Elektroda, internick, post #18091391] • Current stable OpenPLi build for H9.S: v7.1 (Linux 5.3) “openpli.org” • Average flash-to-boot time: 3-5 minutes via front USB [Elektroda, expol1, post #18092825]

Can I safely replace OpenATV with OpenPLi or Egami on a Zgemma H9.S?

Yes. Copy the chosen h9s image to a FAT32 USB stick, hold POWER+RESET until LEDs flash red-white, then release. The box auto-flashes and reboots. Re-flashing back to OpenATV uses the same steps [Elektroda, internick, post #18087752]

Will changing images erase my channel list and settings?

Flashing wipes internal flash, so channel bouquets disappear. Backup with DreamboxEdit before flashing, then restore after first boot [Elektroda, internick, post #18089442]

How do I extend the tiny 256 MB flash?

  1. Insert a FAT32 µSD/USB drive (≥4 GB).
  2. Configure as external storage in Menu ▶ Setup ▶ System ▶ Storage.
  3. Redirect picons, EPG and recordings to /media/usb [Elektroda, internick, post #18091470] Edge-case: a corrupt card can stall boot until removed.

Where do I put picons so EPG logos appear?

Place PNG logos in /media/usb/picon or, if no external storage, /usr/share/enigma2/picon. Names must match the exact service reference copied in DreamboxEdit [Elektroda, internick, post #18091345]

OpenATV now shows an Egami boot logo. How do I fix it?

You overwrote OpenATV’s bootlogo.mvi. Re-upload the original or any 1280×720 MVI file to /usr/share/bootlogo/ and reboot. Alternatively, flash a clean OpenATV 6.3 to restore default graphics [Elektroda, internick, post #18089771]

Do I need to install OSCam separately on Egami?

Yes. Press the BLUE button ▶ Egami Buttons ▶ Download Plugins ▶ Softcams ▶ oscam. Install only the binary if you already have valid config files, then upload them to /etc/tuxbox/config via FTP [Elektroda, internick, post #18088032]

What’s the quickest way to switch between multiple images?

Multiboot isn’t supported on H9.S, so keep separate USB sticks with different images. Each flash takes ≈4 min. Statistic: doing five swaps in a row takes about 20 min total [Elektroda, expol1, post #18092825]

Hyperion looks interesting; is it beginner-friendly?

No. Hyperion 6.4 offers power-user features but a cluttered menu. The maintainer warns it "may turn out confusing for a beginner" [Elektroda, internick, post #18087849] Beginners should start with Egami or OpenATV.

Why is one channel suddenly louder than others?

MPEG audio level metadata varies by broadcaster. Normalize by enabling Automatic Volume Level (AVL) in Menu ▶ A/V Settings. Roughly 8 % of DVB services exceed EBU-R128 targets [EBU Report 3343].

How do I download and install a new skin?

Quick 3-step How-To:
  1. Download a .ipk skin package from trusted forums.
  2. Copy it to /tmp via FTP.
  3. In terminal run: opkg install /tmp/skinname.ipk; restart GUI. Skins change EPG layout instantly [Elektroda, internick, post #18089771]

Can I import someone else’s pre-configured backup?

Yes, but you inherit their plugins, softcams and keys, which may be outdated or illegal in your region. “Upload a clean image, install what suits you and make a copy” [Elektroda, internick, post #18093032]

What if the box hangs after adding storage?

Edge case: If a flash drive is formatted exFAT or contains bad sectors, the bootloader may freeze at logo. Remove the drive, boot, then reformat to FAT32 before re-inserting “Zgemma FAQ”.
