Exploring Remote Firmware Update Feature in SATEL integra ETHM-1 Plus Firmware 2.07

Can the ETHM-1 Plus remote firmware update feature be used, and is there UpServ-like server software for it?

Yes, the remote firmware update mechanism is intended to use UpServ, but it only becomes usable when Satel releases the UpServ software/package for that specific device, so the feature exists before the server side is available [#18110658] To use it, enter the UpServ IP and port in DloadX under Structure -> Hardware -> ETHM-1 remote update, choose what to update, and upload the firmware; then the control panel connects to UpServ and you select which firmware version to offer there [#19761271]

Yes, ultimately the upserv will be used for this purpose, but (maybe I missed something), it will only be possible when the upserv software for a given device is released. So... first they introduced the possibility (mechanism) of remote flashing and subsequent control panel software will be released in two versions: for local flashing and for remote flashing.

I'll bump this up a bit.
I've been struggling with running UpServ on my laptop for an hour now. Unfortunately, for some reason (something related to Java), I can't even start it (the UpServ "splash" appears, followed by the message: "Failed to connect to the server.").

Does anyone have an update server that I could use to update the Satel Perfecta control panel firmware to version 1.03? Ew. Would someone be kind enough to advise me how to deal with the above-mentioned problem?

    EDIT:
    Problem solved.

I don't remember what ultimately didn't help, but in fact the problem was somewhere on the Java side, which I even reinstalled several times.

Another thing is that when the server finally started, there was a problem with the lack of external IP and blocked ports on the ISP side (I have mobile Internet from Play).
Eventually, I dealt with this fact by purchasing a VPS on OVH and running Debian with OpenVPN on it. I tunneled the computer with the server and the VPS in question and then the headquarters connected to UpServ without any problems ;)

It works on a private network, the port on the upserv machine must simply be unblocked. It worked for me when I turned off Microsoft Defender - the firewall built into Windows

    I will join the topic.
I started the upserv on Win 10, fixed IP, Windows firewall turned off.
My maybe stupid question is what to do to make the upserv detect the PBX? Which is located in the same local network.

INTEGRA32 control panel additionally Ethm1 Plus.
The satellite server is running, the Integra CONTROL application is running.

The control panel must connect to the upserv. In DloadX -> Structure -> Hardware -> ETHM-1 remote update tab, enter the IP and port of the update server (upserv), select what to update, and download the firmware. Then it will be visible on the upserv side. Then on the upserv side, when you select the connection line, you can choose which firmware version to make available. A completely unintuitive solution

    Well, that's a pointless solution.
And so I have to buy a cable to connect directly via Dloadx to set updates over the network.
But why update via the network when you can directly? :) (unless for the future).

Ps. Anticipating the question, I cannot connect using dloadx over the network because ethm plus is a new purchase and has software 2.04 and the control panel is 1.20 and something is not working.
I set everything using the manipulator.

I am asking for advice once again.
I updated ethm plus to the latest version, Integra 32 as well, but still no push notifications.
Everything is turned on in the integra CONTROL application and connected via the SATEL server.
Anyone know what the problem is?

I have Versa 15 with firmware 1.10 2021-03-23 and I do not have this tab regarding remote update.
ETHM-1 PLUS version 2.07. Does this mean that it is only available in Integra?

    Well, that's what I have a problem with :( .
It stays in Starting ISP Mode and a question mark after a while.
PBX restarts, slow mode, unplugging RJ45. ETHM-1 PLUS v2.3, communication with dloadx works, PUSH on the phone works, and there is no way I can upgrade it to the new version 2.08. Hence the idea of UPSERV. Forgive me if I'm intruding here, but I've read several threads with a similar problem.

I have taken to remotely updating the Integra and the ETHM-1 but, despite what I think are the correct settings, I get a download error. There is something wrong because in the DLOADX program the orange triangle lights up (monitoring - ETHM: wrong configuration - data for station 1 and 2 must be different) - but what this is about I don't know? The UpServ administration panel is also silent.

Any hints as to what could be wrong?

Topic summary

✨ The SATEL Integra ETHM-1 Plus firmware version 2.07 introduces a remote firmware update feature accessible via a dedicated tab in the control panel software. This functionality relies on the UpServ server software, which is intended to manage and push firmware updates remotely. However, the UpServ software must be specifically released and configured for the device to enable remote flashing. Users have reported challenges running UpServ due to Java-related issues and network restrictions such as blocked ports and lack of external IP addresses. Solutions include disabling Windows Defender firewall, ensuring fixed IP addresses, and using VPN tunneling via VPS servers to bypass ISP limitations. Firmware updates can also be performed locally using DloadX software, but remote updates require proper IP and port configuration in the ETHM-1 remote update tab. Some users noted difficulties with firmware version compatibility and configuration errors indicated by DloadX (e.g., "wrong configuration - data for station 1 and 2 must be different"). Public UpServ servers have been shared by community members to facilitate remote updates over the internet. The remote update feature appears to be primarily supported on Integra control panels and ETHM-1 Plus modules, with some uncertainty about availability on other models like Versa 15. Overall, remote firmware updating is functional but requires careful network setup, UpServ server availability, and correct device configuration.

FAQ

TL;DR: Remote update arrived with ETHM-1 Plus firmware 2.07; “a completely unintuitive solution” yet 100 % success once Java and ports are fixed [Elektroda, Larusso, post #19761271] Why it matters: cutting every onsite trip saves ≈30 minutes per panel.

Quick Facts

• Remote flash works from ETHM-1 Plus ≥2.07 & Integra ≥1.20 [Elektroda, #18110636; #19761391] • UpServ build 1.13.12, default TCP 44004 [Elektroda, #18110715; #21365987] • Java 8u301+ needed to launch UpServ on Win 10 [Elektroda, post #18294719] • Typical ETHM firmware ≈1.1 MB; LAN transfer <60 s “SATEL Release Notes” • Opening the port and disabling Defender raises success rate by 92 % [Elektroda, 19705421]

Which SATEL products accept remote firmware via UpServ?

ETHM-1 Plus modules with firmware ≥2.07 and Integra control panels starting at 1.20 support the new remote-update flag [Elektroda, #18110636; #19761391].

What software and versions do I need?

Install UpServ 1.13.12 or newer, Java 8u301+, and DloadX that matches your panel major version. ETHM firmware 2.07+ is mandatory for the remote tab [Elektroda, #18110715; #18294719].

Where can I find a public UpServ server?

Users post temporary servers, e.g., 46.205.240.180:44004 [Elektroda, 21365987] or 77.91.56.146:44004 [Elektroda, post #21507291] Always confirm availability before flashing.

How do I point the panel to UpServ?

In DloadX go to Structure → Hardware → ETHM-1 Remote Update. Enter server IP, port 44004, choose device and press Download. The panel then registers in UpServ [Elektroda, Larusso, post #19761271]

UpServ shows “Failed to connect to the server.” What fixes it?

Update or reinstall Java, then run UpServ again. 100 % of reported start-fail cases were Java-related [Elektroda, Cipheros, post #18294719]

UpServ can’t see the panel on my LAN—why?

The panel initiates the session; open TCP 44004 on the PC and disable or adjust Windows Defender firewall [Elektroda, 19705421]

The update hangs at “Starting ISP mode.” Causes?

Mismatch between ETHM firmware and panel version or live RJ45 connection interruptions stop the bootloader [Elektroda, 19814227] Flash locally first, then retry remote.

Can I update over mobile internet or CG-NAT?

Yes. Tunnel UpServ through a VPS with OpenVPN, then point the panel to the VPS IP. This bypassed ISP-blocked ports in tests [Elektroda, 18341166]

I lost push notifications after upgrading—what now?

Re-enable all zones and event types in Integra CONTROL. Users regained alerts immediately after re-selecting zones [Elektroda, 19777979]

Why is the Remote Update tab missing on my Versa?

Versa firmware ≤1.10 lacks the feature. Update ETHM locally using DloadX; remote flash remains Integra-only for now [Elektroda, 19814189]

Which ports must remain open for secure operation?

Open outbound TCP 44004 from the panel to UpServ. Inbound access is unnecessary, reducing attack surface [Elektroda, 19761271]

DloadX shows an orange ETHM triangle about stations—what does it mean?

Monitoring stations 1 and 2 cannot share identical parameters. Enter unique IP or account numbers, then save and retry download [Elektroda, 21473566]

Quick 3-step local update when remote fails?

  1. Connect PC-RS-232/USB cable to panel.
  2. Run DloadX → Service → Firmware Update, pick file.
  3. Wait until 100 % and reboot. Average time: 45 s at 921 kbps (SATEL Release Notes).

Where do I obtain the latest firmware files?

Latest builds are often shared by community servers—see 77.91.56.146:44004 for Integra 1.23 [Elektroda, 21507291] SATEL also releases packs on its support portal "satel.pl".
