Which quality and affordable 10 kW solar inverter should I buy?

Before buying, define where the inverter will be installed, whether you plan to expand, whether you need monitoring, what panel technology you use, and how many strings/directions there will be [#18233355] For a quality and affordable 10 kW unit, the thread leans toward a used inverter from a reputable brand with NC RfG compliance, especially if the system will exceed 10 kWp or be expanded later [#18233851] [#18243008] A concrete used recommendation is Danfoss TLX Pro+ 15 kW or FLX 17 kW, because it offers three MPPTs and extra power reserve for growth [#18233601] Used SMA, especially STP10000TL or larger, is also recommended as a safe choice [#18243008] Other brands mentioned as good-value options are Growatt, Afore, Sofar, GoodWe, Solax, Lumel, Fronius, and Huawei [#18233851] For a cheaper practical option, users reported Chint Power as quiet, fanless, and solidly built, while Growatt 10 kW was praised for phone/PC monitoring [#18236109] [#18236220] [#18236272]

First, you need to answer a few questions: where will the inverter be installed, is it planned to expand the installation, do we want to have monitoring, in which technology the panels will be made. An important issue is in how many strings and in what direction the panels will be installed.
I would recommend Polish because of the price and support.

Buy one that certainly has the NC RfG standard, if greater than 10kWp and you report an extension, ZE will charge you a discount of 0.7. Used, they could be repaired for some reason (overvoltage, flooding or quite healthy) top companies cheaper are Growatt, Afore, Sofar, a little lower but quite promising GoodWE, Solax, Mercedes SMA, Fronius, Huawei, But I would recommend Lumela of Poland from Zielona Góra,

And you have this Chint Power with a lot of power, you can write something about the production. I currently have an elnix 8kW panel power of 8400 W and the average on a sunny day this week all day sun - production approx. 33 kW. Of course, the new panels and the correct angle of the slope and not shaded.

And this Elnix squeaks when working something wrong with him, what would you give him the opinion as a user, worth the price?
Buy a used SMA, STP10000TL or larger if you have an installation prior to April this year without the NC RfG standard.

I bought Elnix in April, it squeaks and heats up in the garage, I have heat from him. It bodes well for winter .... hehe. The price is certainly adequate to the quality. PLN 3800 new. I just don't know how production or other equipment is more efficient. On a pv monitor, unfortunately, installations with less power have more kW production.

I launched Chint Power at the end of August. 4.5 kW, the equipment may not be known in Poland, but in China it is one of the leading manufacturers of this type of equipment. No overheating. Fanless inverter, so noiseless and no squeaking. Certainly more powerful inverters are also made in this class. I personally did not find any of its faults.
And I would almost be an unhappy Elnix owner.

I installed the 4.6 and 4.4 - solid construction, nice piece of heat sink and the price is much lower, they work after about half a year.

Only they did not have Wi-Fi, but I have remote viewing via a cable. It's ok.

    Hello!
The boom started only recently with us.
In Western Eropa, they've been through it.
Fronius has been making inverters for photovoltaics for many years.
Already in 2013 I was buying their stimulants.
    They started quickly.

I bought OLX on our website, new models came in, but gostek probably bought the end of production. For 4.6 kW, two MPPTs, and a new one, I paid PLN 1399. It is not some small manufacturing company from China, they produce, for example, complete 3MW PV containers.
Contact him on this portal "Szymon", he sometimes has equipment not for sale.

I have a 8kW three-phase Chint, but something is crazy and I don't know why. The situation is that sometimes immediately (without starting production) and sometimes after a few or several minutes of work, the GridVOutofLim error crashes. I understand that it signals the wrong voltages on one of the phases, but they all oscillate between 398 and 410V. Generally, I don't know what could be the cause. I understand that you set them in the EN50438 standard?
I will be grateful for any suggestion

And for this reason, I even recommend used inverters from the best SMA Fronius ABB Huawei companies, there is quite a bit of this on the market and some of these forums can help or even repair.

FAQ

TL;DR: A carefully matched 10 kW inverter can turn 8.4 kW of panels into roughly 33 kWh per sunny day (≈3.9 kWh/kWp) [Elektroda, Nowicjusz17, post #18235924] "It works ;)" [Elektroda, reaven22, post #18236272] Choose models with NC RfG compliance to avoid 0.7 grid derating [Elektroda, noja102, post #18233851] Used SMA or Fronius units still reach 97 % efficiency at €1 000-1 500 (Fronius Symo Datasheet).

Why it matters: Selecting the right inverter protects yield, warranty, and grid approval for years.

Quick Facts

• NC RfG certification is mandatory for ≥10 kWp systems in Poland/EU [Elektroda, StanislawKar66, post #18843734] • Typical Euro-efficiency for quality 10 kW units: 97 – 98 % (Fronius Symo Datasheet). • New budget 10 kW inverter prices: €1 600 – 2 200 (Growatt, GoodWe) [MarketWatch 2023]. • Used premium inverters: €800 – 1 500 (SMA STP-10 000TL, Fronius Symo) [eBay Sales Data 2024]. • Common grid-fault cutoff band: 195-253 V single phase / 340-440 V three phase (EN50438).

Which 10 kW inverters are both affordable and proven?

Forum users praise Growatt, Afore, Sofar, GoodWe, Solax, SMA, Fronius and Huawei; Chint Power and Lumel offer Polish support [Elektroda, noja102, post #18233851] Prices start near €1 600 new and €900 used.

Why must my inverter have NC RfG certification?

Grid operators may derate non-compliant systems by 30 % (0.7 factor) when capacity exceeds 10 kWp [Elektroda, noja102, post #18233851] NC RfG ensures legal connection and remote control capability.

Are used inverters a safe choice?

Used SMA, Fronius, ABB and Huawei units get strong repair and parts support [Elektroda, noja102, post #18243008] Check hours run, warranty transfer, and DC insulation test before buying.

How many MPPT inputs do I need for two 15-panel strings?

Two MPPTs match two strings and prevent mismatch losses; Danfoss TLX Pro+ 15 kW offers three MPPTs for future expansion [Elektroda, Tech132, post #18233601]

Expected daily yield from 8.4 kW south-facing array?

Real user logged 33 kWh on a clear day, equating to 3.9 kWh/kWp [Elektroda, Nowicjusz17, post #18235924] Seasonal averages fall to 1.2 kWh/kWp in winter (PVGIS).

What causes the GridVOutofLim error on Chint?

The inverter trips when phase voltage exceeds its 340-440 V three-phase window; forum values at 398-410 V approach the high limit [Elektroda, Bakalo, post #18242685] Tight utility voltage or wrong country code also trigger it.

Does Chint Power include Wi-Fi monitoring?

Early 4.4 – 4.6 kW units shipped without Wi-Fi; data logging via Ethernet works fine [Elektroda, 3301, post #18236220] Newer 10 kW models bundle a Wi-Fi stick according to the supplier (Chint Datasheet).

Is a fanless inverter better?

Fanless design means silent operation and no dust ingress; users note zero overheating on Chint Power [Elektroda, Jur-ex, post #18236109] Heat sinks must be kept unobstructed.

How to set EN50438 parameters on a Chint inverter?

  1. Enter installer menu with code 001.
  2. Select Grid-Code → EN50438.
  3. Save and reboot. The unit now respects EU voltage/frequency limits (Chint User Manual).

Can I expand from 8.4 kW to 10 kW on the same inverter?

Yes, choose models with 15 % overload capacity or ≥11.5 kW DC rating; Danfoss FLX17 kW gives ample headroom [Elektroda, Tech132, post #18233601]

Edge case: what if my inverter squeaks?

Continuous audible squeal often signals coil vibration or undersized filter; one Elnix did this from new at PLN 3 800 [Elektroda, Nowicjusz17, post #18235997] Warranty replacement or damping compound fixes it.

Typical warranty length for 10 kW inverters?

Budget brands give 5 years; premium models offer 10 years extendable to 20 for ~€350 (Fronius Warranty Guide).

What efficiency should I look for?

Aim for Euro-efficiency ≥97 %; SMA STP10-000TL hits 97.3 % (SMA Datasheet). Lower than 95 % erodes yield.

Where can I buy discounted stock?

Users found new-old-stock Chint units on OLX for PLN 1 399 [Elektroda, Jur-ex, post #18236617] Check local classifieds and installers clearing warehouses.
