I configure a PV installation around 8kW. What are your experiences with Sofar inverters. Any problems, failures. The price is right.

I have a problem with connecting to wifi.
No service, I do not recommend the company where I bought Green Buton for help as a service technician asks for money PLN 1200, they say that they must earn. \ I do not recommend calling me 793 766 295

For me, in the documents received at the purchase, he is a guarantor, but he sends me back to Corab and they to the seller ... :(
I have errors: BusOPV and PVOVP

He hasn't responded to an e-mail since yesterday. The representative in the telephone conversation sends you back to the company that installed the set.

Start with the installer, according to the errors it turns out that the input voltage is too high, maybe the wrong number of panels

write how many strings for how many panels and what panels

Quote from the SOFAR KTL manual:
    PvOVP

The input voltage is too high

Check if too many PV panels are not
connected to one string so that
the voltage (Voc) was not greater than the maximum
input voltage of the SOFAR inverter. If so
situation arises, connect the appropriate number
PV panels in a string to reduce the voltage in
chain, so as to fit them to the max. voltage
inverter inputs. The inverter will automatically return
to normal state after correcting the number of panels w
    chain.

The case with the seller has one more thread, apart from the technical one. I will wait for a response from Corab.
Generally the inverter works. From time to time, errors pop up and it turns off for several or several hours. Then, it activates itself again, e.g. after a night or an hour (I don't know exactly).
It does not look like there are too many panels, because in summer itself it worked normally on sunny days, and it can turn off on a cloudy day, although I think it may be affected by the sudden departure of strong sun from outside the clouds.

as the sun gets stronger the power increases and the inverter will turn off so as not to break down

It's not about power, but the voltage of this 1-phase sofar has a maximum of 600V and if these 15 are connected in series in 1 string, it is probably a nap. max is exceeded

Do you think my specs got 7 panels wrong? So I understand that the inverter is too weak and what should be the right one?

Are they connected to one or two MPPTs? (Are there 2 or 4 wires from the panels to the inverter?)

possibly you need to bridge 2 mpp outputs of the tracker so that he reads as one and sums up because for 1 tracker 2600 in the podlancza network, that is, plus and minus need to be divided into 2 slots and in the reading 1 mmp tracer

try on 8-9 panels, disconnect the rest and also try then there in the mouth is each tracker independently or 2 together, i.e. as I wrote above, please let me know if it helped

Topic summary

The discussion centers on experiences with Sofar inverters in approximately 8kW photovoltaic (PV) installations, focusing on technical issues, durability, and configuration challenges. Users report generally stable operation with models like Sofar 6.6KTL-X and 5.5KTL-X over extended periods, though some face connectivity problems, especially with Wi-Fi and software availability. A recurring technical problem involves input voltage exceeding the maximum allowed 600V DC for single-phase Sofar inverters (notably the 4KTLM-G2), causing errors such as PVOVP and BusOPV and inverter shutdowns. This is often due to too many PV panels connected in series on a single string, with 15 Q.CELLS Q.PEAK G4.1 305W panels sometimes exceeding voltage limits, especially in cold conditions where voltage rises. Solutions include splitting panels into two strings (e.g., 8 and 7 panels) connected to separate MPPT inputs, though some users report this does not fully resolve the issue. The maximum recommended panels per MPPT input is around 9 to avoid surpassing power and voltage limits. Users also discuss the need for three-phase inverters for larger installations above 7kW on a single phase due to grid operator restrictions. Software and firmware updates are sought after but not easily accessible, with some users lacking Polish language support. Comparisons with other brands like SMA and Fronius highlight Sofar's cost advantage but raise concerns about long-term reliability and service support, which is still developing in some regions. Network-related errors such as Grid OFP (over-frequency) have been reported, with troubleshooting involving network frequency checks and inverter restarts. Overall, Sofar inverters are considered a cost-effective option with some technical caveats related to system design, installation quality, and support infrastructure.
