I have had a PV installation based on the Sofar Solar 5.5 KTL-X inverter for some time. Today I noticed that the display blinks with three LEDs, periodically every 20 seconds. No production, panels covered with snow, temperature below zero. Is this normal behavior of the inverter or should I be afraid of a possible fault?

Wait, these inverters don't start up without proper exposure to the panels. Perhaps because of the snow and poor lighting, it tries to take off, but it does not have the right parameters and can't do it.

    Everything is OK.
There is not enough light, the panels charge the capacitors in the inverter, then the device tries to start, but the energy is so low that it immediately discharges the capacitors and the device "dies" over and over again, until the insolation of the panels reaches such a moment that it is able to start.. .

Leon444, it seems that it should indeed be. Now the inverter is inactive, i.e. it behaves as always after dark. It's just that I haven't observed such behavior with blinking LEDs before. Thanks everyone and best regards.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the Sofar Solar 5.5 KTL-X inverter, which exhibits a behavior of three blinking LEDs, indicating a potential issue. Users suggest that this behavior may be normal under conditions of low light, such as when solar panels are covered with snow, preventing adequate energy production. The inverter attempts to start but fails due to insufficient energy, leading to a cycle of charging and discharging capacitors. The user manual does not specify this LED behavior, but it is concluded that the inverter is inactive, similar to its behavior after dark, and the blinking is likely a result of low insolation rather than a fault.
