JBL TUNE 500BT Headphones - Unable to Connect, Drivers Missing on Laptop & Official Website

Best answers

How do I connect JBL TUNE 500BT headphones to a laptop when Bluetooth sees them but Windows cannot install the drivers or play sound?

The headphones do not need a special driver from JBL; the fix is usually in the laptop’s Bluetooth stack and audio settings. On Windows 7, install the original Bluetooth drivers for the laptop or a compatible BT stack such as CSR Harmony, then restart Windows and update the dongle/adapter driver if needed [#19835493][#19455735] If the headphones pair but no sound comes out, disable the mono "Bluetooth hands free audio" device and use the stereo Bluetooth audio device instead [#19111918] Another working set of steps was to set all Bluetooth services in `services.msc` to Automatic, stop/start them, and reset the headphones by holding `+` and `-` together for about 5 seconds before pairing again [#19835493]

I tried to use it, but it is not up-to-date, namely you cannot download these drivers for free, or I do not search for them because windows 7 is no longer supported. Is there anyone here who has already connected these headphones to his laptop?

    Hello

I will connect to the topic, maybe someone knows the answer. Headphones as subject. After successful installation, the 4world bluetooth adapter (it was not easy). He connects my headphones as a headset. On devices, it even shows up with the name JBL TUNE500BT, but I don't have it in the sound options to switch to this device. I was browsing the properties, management panels, unfortunately I do not see anywhere to set it as a device for sound playback. Maybe it's the fault of a bad adapter? I will be grateful for your help.

    greetings

I succeeded in this way that in the sound settings the headphones were seen as "bluetooth hands free audio" it was mono and "bluetooth audio renderer" was stereo. On the first one, I just right-clicked and gave it off. And it worked for me.

    Hello
Elo, I'm looking for a magician to help solve the problem. There is no way I can connect JBL LIVE 650BT NC uninterruptible headphones with a computer (laptop), as if everything is paired and the sound still does not work. In general, the headphones work by pairing them with the phone, so it's definitely not a hardware issue. I will only add that I carried out the same configuration on 3 laptops and I have the same problem in each of them. Windows 10 operating system.
Description of the problem - when pairing the headphones wirelessly, we search for the device that the system finds. Unfortunately, after pairing, the headphones appear as another device and the system connects them not as headphones but as some strange equipment! The headphones do not need an additional adapter to work, they should automatically connect to the laptop. For information, an uninterruptible speaker connects to the laptop and everything is ok, it automatically detects it as the so-called. headphones and everything works. Where the hell is the problem because I'm already stupid? I would like to add that my son also cannot connect wireless headphones from the same company to the laptop, the same problem is there. Below are pictures of what it looks like before pairing and after pairing in Windows. The headphones are not paired with another device. Hej, mnie się udało wszystko zrobić dzięki powyższym sterownikom.

I was having trouble installing ( on Win 7 64 bit ) my Bluetooth 5.0 adapter from eBay to connect my desktop computer to my JBL E500BT headphones. I was able to solve the problem with these drivers:

    https://drive.google.com/u/0/uc?id=1cThcmEjmPOxPStDdrWx5bHiyy_gv2xXF&export=download

unpack und installiert, and Start-> Devices and Printers -> Dongle ->Right Click -> Properties -> Hardware -> Generic Bluetooth Ratio -> Properties -> Change Settings -> Driver -> Update Driver -> Browse my computer for drivers -> Let mi Pick from a list available drivers on my computer -> Have Disk -> C:Program Files (x86)CSRCSR Harmony Wireless Software StackCsrBtSys.inf or other driver.inf from here. and OK -> OK and dann is all installed. CSR Driver.

After that, the computer installed additional drivers and all the latest Bluetooth devices work properly!

Here's how I solved the problem with connecting the JBL Tune 510BT headphones to a laptop bluetooth for Windows 7.
The headphones could be seen through the laptop but played no sound.
Steps in points (BT = Bluetooth):
    - turning on the BT module in the laptop
    - removal of existing BT devices stored in Windows
    - uninstalling existing BT drivers
    - restarting Windows,
    - downloading ORIGINAL BT drivers for our laptop specifically from the manufacturer's website,
    - driver installation
    - restarting Windows again
According to the video below (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrD3rVDsX2I)
    - Start -> enter services.msc in the search (enter all) and run
    - find entries that begin with the word Bluetooth
    - in each of them enter Properties, set it as AUTOMATIC, Apply, Stop-to stop, Start-to start, OK, after closing the window, right-click on the modified service and give Restart,
    - restart Windows,
    - reset the headphones by pressing the and - buttons simultaneously on for about 5 seconds, they will emit a sound,
    - enter the Bluetooth settings, search for the device, click its icon and Windows should automatically switch the sound to the headphones and after turning them off, the sound automatically returns to the loudspeaker.

That's how it worked for me and it still works :)

If I helped - click on the point.

FAQ

TL;DR: On Windows laptops, JBL BT headphones may pair as “other device”; one user tested 3 laptops. “The headphones do not need an additional adapter to work.” Fixes: install OEM Bluetooth drivers, disable Hands‑Free, or reset. [Elektroda, Szubi007, post #19170358]

Why it matters: This FAQ helps Windows 7/10 users fix JBL Tune 500BT (and similar) when they pair but don’t output sound.

Quick Facts

How do I fix “paired but no sound” for JBL Tune 500BT on Windows 7?

Reinstall your laptop’s original Bluetooth stack, restart BT services, then reset and re‑pair. Steps reported working: remove BT devices and drivers, reboot, install OEM BT drivers, set Bluetooth services to Automatic in services.msc, restart them, reset headphones (Vol+ and Vol‑), then pair. “Windows should automatically switch the sound to the headphones.” [Elektroda, Zigg, post #19835493]

Where can I get the right Bluetooth drivers for my laptop?

Don’t look for JBL PC drivers. Download and install the ORIGINAL Bluetooth drivers from your laptop manufacturer’s support page, then reboot and re‑pair. Users reported success after replacing generic stacks with the OEM package and restarting Bluetooth services. [Elektroda, Zigg, post #19835493]

How do I force stereo A2DP instead of mono “hands‑free”?

Use Sound settings to pick the stereo renderer. 1. Open Sound > Playback. 2. Right‑click “Bluetooth Hands‑Free Audio” and choose Disable. 3. Set “Bluetooth Audio Renderer” as Default Device. This switch restored stereo playback for a user. [Elektroda, cukier20, post #19111918]

TeamSpeak/Discord kills my music on JBL 500BT—how do I stop that?

Voice apps open the mic and Windows switches to the Hands‑Free profile, which is mono and lowers quality. Disable the “Bluetooth Hands‑Free Audio” device so Windows keeps the stereo “Bluetooth Audio Renderer,” or use a separate mic. Then reconnect to your voice app. [Elektroda, cukier20, post #19111918]

My JBL pairs as “Headset” and doesn’t show in Playback devices—why?

That symptom was reported with a 4world adapter: Windows paired as a headset and no playback device appeared. It indicates only the headset role attached. Remove the device, reinstall the Bluetooth stack, and re‑pair. If you use a USB dongle, install its vendor drivers. [Elektroda, KenshinPL, post #18779617]

My USB Bluetooth dongle only shows a Headset profile—what’s the fix?

Install the transmitter’s dedicated driver. One user resolved the issue by installing the Bluetooth transmitter driver from the board/vendor, after which the proper playback device appeared. Reboot after installing and then re‑pair the headphones. [Elektroda, keyveePL, post #19111935]

What Bluetooth version do JBL Tune 500BT use?

They use Bluetooth 4.1. If your laptop uses an older adapter or generic stack, update the driver or use a better‑supported adapter for stable A2DP. [Elektroda, g107r, post #18440200]

How do I reset JBL Tune 500BT before re‑pairing?

Press and hold Volume + and Volume – together for about 5 seconds until you hear a tone. Then remove the device from Windows, enable Bluetooth, and pair again from Settings. This reset was part of a working recovery flow. [Elektroda, Zigg, post #19835493]

Do these symptoms also affect JBL LIVE 650BT NC?

Yes. A user saw the same behavior on three Windows 10 laptops: pairing completed but the device showed as something other than headphones and no sound. Apply the same reset and stereo‑renderer selection steps. [Elektroda, Szubi007, post #19170358]

How do I install CSR Harmony drivers for a generic adapter on Windows 7?

Install the CSR package, then force Windows to use it. 1. Install CSR Harmony. 2. Devices and Printers > your dongle > Properties > Hardware > Generic Bluetooth Radio > Update Driver > Have Disk > select CsrBtSys.inf. 3. Reboot, then re‑pair your JBL. [Elektroda, kxt3, post #19455735]

Which playback device should I select in Windows for best quality?

Select “Bluetooth Audio Renderer” for stereo music. Disable “Bluetooth Hands‑Free Audio” if you do not need the headset mic, since it forces mono and lower quality. Reopen your player after switching. [Elektroda, cukier20, post #19111918]

My connection still acts flaky—what quick step should I try first?

Reset the headphones and try pairing again from scratch. As one helper put it, “Try to reset, but you are not the only one writing about it.” After resetting, re‑pair and test music before opening voice apps. [Elektroda, g107r, post #18440752]

Is upgrading to Windows 10 required to get JBL Tune 500BT audio?

Not always, but it solved the issue for one user instantly. They reported that switching to Windows 10 made everything work without further tweaks. Consider updating if OEM drivers on older Windows still fail. [Elektroda, KenshinPL, post #19065460]
