I have had optical fiber from NETTI for a few days (theoretically dowload 1000 Mb/s and upload 100 Ms). I got a Huawei HG8245Q2 modem from the operator. After installation and speed tests, they looked correct (default operator settings, where their modem also acted as a router, and my Synology RT2600ac router mainly acted as a switch).

Unfortunately, because I have a NAS in the network (from which I need access to the Internet), I had to ask for switching the netia equipment to bridge mode in order to be able to forward ports through my router. I got the login and password from the net and via PPPoE I connected my router to the modem. Well, everything is running smoothly, but unfortunately the download speed has dropped from 1000 Mb/s to about 200 Mb/s (upload has remained the same). I called a technician from NETIA, who connected (including bridge mode) via his laptop directly to the modem and his speeds are ok (I will add that he used linux for testing and had no antivirus, I use Windows 10 for testing and I have Kaspersky Endpoint antivirus security).

So it turns out that the problem is my Synology RT2600ac router, but I have no idea why. This is high-end equipment that should easily handle these speeds, but something limits it. I suspect that the problem is the detailed settings of the PPPoE connection, but unfortunately neither the technician who came to my place nor the NETIA hotline know anything about it (he claims that automatic settings should be ok).

I'm uploading a screenshot of my settings that the router normally assigned when auto-detecting the connection type. What needs to be changed so that the link uses 100% of its capacity, and not just 20%? Or maybe the problem lies elsewhere?

    For starters, this:
    https://pro.speedtest.pl/
    https://pro.speedtest.pl/pomiar_certyfikowany_i_niecertyfikowany
    https://pro.speedtest.pl/aplikacje_dostepne_w_ramach_systemupomiarowego
Please make a certified measurement, and insert the result/report of this measurement here.

Also disable IPv6 in Synology - as of today, it's more problems than benefits.

Try to play with additional options in this router, turn off and test unnecessary, the processor sweats during PPPoE connection and the two cores that are there may not be enough for 1Gb / s without hardware help in some issues. See if you have any hardware offloading option or hwnat or something like that.. ;)

I messed up and figured it out. The problem was the additional options enabled by default in the router (attachment). In theory, both, according to the description in the manual, should lift the limitations of the service provider. In my case it was the opposite, it was blocking full speed. After turning off both, the net runs like a nice one :)
