    Hello,
I'm looking for a reasonably priced way to be able to control a relay output via email, obviously from a predefined address, based on a predefined command (whether in text or in the subject of a message).

In a similar way to how we control the control panel with SMS commands, here, for various reasons, the only control option is via e-mail.
Have any of you dealt with this subject?

What exactly is meant by "reasonably priced" ?

Let's say up to 2000 PLN for hardware with software, assuming that in this upper limit we already have these controllable outputs from 9 upwards.

Specify further the interface through which the device is to communicate (LAN, WiFi, GPRS).

    LAN, eventually WiFi

Should this relay be a small one, e.g. as in a PIR detector, or a large one for switching 230V mains devices?

Only a simple controllable contact or e.g. OC output is needed, i.e. small currents. Further on I can already manage if larger loads need to be controlled.

I sent the information to PW.

And wouldn't the cheap-as-butter ESP32 with a mail client suffice, perhaps with some creative modifications - some message parsing.
There is quite a lot of software (free), probably even for the Arduniuniu environment.

For this money you will have from 10 - 20 pieces.

If the communication is to take place via Ethernet then I have proposed a device based on ESP32 with open software in LUA and a MODBUS interface. You will still need a set of relays with MODBUS to complete the set. The total cost should not exceed PLN 400.
In the case of WiFi and one small relay, the cost of a ready-made solution on also ESP32 with LUA is much less.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around finding an affordable solution to control relay outputs via email commands, with a budget of up to 2000 PLN. Users inquire about the communication interface, specifying preferences for LAN or WiFi. The relay requirements include simple controllable contacts for small currents, with suggestions for using an ESP32 microcontroller equipped with a mail client for message parsing. A proposed solution involves using an ESP32 with open-source software in LUA and a MODBUS interface, with total costs estimated to be around 400 PLN for Ethernet communication. The ESP32 is highlighted as a cost-effective option for WiFi applications as well.
