    Hello
I bought a flat some time ago and I didn't get the keys to the electric box at the start
The previous owners must have lost it
Can I buy a universal key based on these photos? I know there are a few standards but I don't want to buy random ones and someone might know what it is right away

See if the Property Administrator has the keys?
If there is an old type counter inside; the energy sector certainly has the keys.
We are not allowed to rummage in these boxes in our estate and we do not have access, the regulations of the administration say so.

Each of the neighbors has a key to their box because recently when phase 1 was missing, everyone was running to check if it was ok there, but luckily it's not the boxes' fault because I wouldn't get in
The estate is a maximum of 3 years old, so the meters will be of a new type
The administration does not have a universal key, but Tauron certainly does
There are several types of universal keys for this type of boxes on Allegro, but I do not know what type it is

Probably it is Master Key . You can't buy a master key because it's proprietary. However, you can buy an insert with keys that match only it.

Talk to the collector when he reads the meter reading, what is the procedure for replacing the cylinder due to the lack of a key.

Contact your network operator, he will provide you with a key or replace the cylinder and you will have it. Why don't you take the simplest path?

To tell the truth, I thought it was some kind of standard and I would buy a universal key for PLN 20 for allegro, but I miscalculated and I have to go a more official way

If everyone could buy such a key on sale, why would there be such a lock.

If I'm not mistaken, the gross insert costs PLN 60
I do not know how he views the exchange of Tauron, but I'm sure they will cover the subject for a fee.
This box is opened by a subscriber's key with an assigned number --- if you have a key (it can be a subscriber, collector, fitter or ambulance) you can take out the insert and the serial number is stamped on it - you can get to the key by the number -- but it's easier for the operator to replace pay the insert and after the trouble

There were universal padlocks and fuses even padded with nails, well, a Pole knows everything and can always find a way out of a situation that is not necessarily safe.

And probably for this reason, operators put on patent inserts. There is also a problem with this, but for a person who deals with it on a daily basis, getting a key from the operator is not difficult. The owner of the facility to which he should have access will probably receive such a key or the operator will exchange it for a new insert, probably for a fee.
There are also padlocks in Tauron (in three colors) where each color means who can have access to the place secured by this padlock.

Mirek, in my opinion, the author rather understood what it was about (post #7) and I think he is not going to pick up this box for other intentions than those he is entitled to.
The constructive answer to the author's problem is in #9, but it concerns the Enea operator.
If it's in Tauron, maybe the author will find out something on the hotline.

The point here is for the reading owner of the premises or houses to understand the basic thing:
ZK and ZLP is the property of a given energy source and any suspected failure in this connector should be reported to the appropriate energy source. The ZE will either send a team or may authorize a qualified person to remove the failure.
A person who arbitrarily interferes with the connector must take into account the fact that the ZE may bring him to criminal liability.

I consider the topic to be exhausted - I close it.

FAQ

TL;DR: Lost your meter‑box key? The insert typically costs about PLN 60 gross, and "it's easier for the operator to replace the insert." This FAQ helps flat owners get legal access without guess‑buying “universal” keys. [Elektroda, dasilvaart, post #19856233]

Why it matters: The right path avoids unsafe entry, fines, and repeated service delays.

Quick Facts

How do I get into my apartment’s electric meter box without the original key?

Your box may use a Master Key system. You cannot buy the master key retail. The practical route is replacing the cylinder with an insert that comes with its own keys. [Elektroda, zbich70, post #19854563]

Can I just buy a universal key on Allegro?

Do not expect a single “universal” key to fit these locks. “If everyone could buy such a key on sale, why would there be such a lock.” Random purchases waste money and leave you noncompliant. [Elektroda, ta_tar, post #19855509]

Who should I contact to resolve a lost key for a Tauron box?

Contact your distribution network operator. “Contact your network operator, he will provide you with a key or replace the cylinder and you will have it.” This is the simplest path and keeps you compliant. [Elektroda, stomat, post #19855009]

What should I tell the meter reader (collector) during their next visit?

Explain you lack the key and ask about the replacement procedure. “Talk to the collector when he reads the meter reading, what is the procedure for replacing the cylinder due to the lack of a key.” They can guide the next steps. [Elektroda, Jacdiag, post #19854722]

How much does replacing the insert or getting a key cost?

A typical cylinder insert costs about PLN 60 gross. The operator may charge for replacement or service. The insert carries a stamped serial number, which can match a key, but paying for a new insert is usually simpler. [Elektroda, dasilvaart, post #19856233]

Is it legal for me to open or modify the meter box lock myself?

No. “ZK and ZLP is the property of a given energy source.” Unauthorized interference can lead to criminal liability. Always report suspected faults to your energy provider and wait for authorization or a crew. [Elektroda, Topolski Mirosław, post #19856687]

Why do my neighbors have keys while I don’t?

Boxes are opened by subscriber keys assigned per unit. “This box is opened by a subscriber's key with an assigned number.” If yours is missing, ask the operator to supply a key or replace the insert for your flat. [Elektroda, dasilvaart, post #19856233]

Can I identify the correct key type from photos?

Photos rarely confirm a usable retail key. These locks often sit in a Master Key hierarchy. You cannot buy the master key, but you can replace the insert and receive matching keys for that insert only. [Elektroda, zbich70, post #19854563]

Who else might have a compatible key for my box?

Holders can include the subscriber, a collector, a fitter, or emergency services. The cylinder’s serial can map to a key, but operators usually prefer replacing the insert and issuing new keys to the subscriber. [Elektroda, dasilvaart, post #19856233]

What do Tauron padlock colors mean?

Tauron uses padlocks in three colors to indicate who may access the secured location. “There are also padlocks in Tauron (in three colors) where each color means who can have access.” Respect those controls when seeking entry. [Elektroda, ta_tar, post #19856295]

How do I replace the cylinder or get a new key?

  1. Call your network operator (e.g., Tauron) and report the lost key.
  2. Request cylinder replacement or key issuance; follow their identity check.
  3. Schedule the visit, pay the fee, and receive your subscriber keys. [Elektroda, stomat, post #19855009]

During a phase loss or outage, should I open the box to check?

Do not force the box. Report the issue to the operator. The connector and meter enclosure belong to the energy provider, and unauthorized entry can trigger criminal liability. Wait for an authorized crew or instructions. [Elektroda, Topolski Mirosław, post #19856687]

Does building administration keep a master key?

Ask your property administrator first. Some estates forbid resident access to meter boxes under their regulations. In such estates, residents do not hold keys, and access is limited to utility staff. [Elektroda, krzysiozak, post #19854472]
