Hello, I have a question, namely I plan to buy Xiaomi MI Pro 2 from 2022, and from what I've heard with newer scooters from Xiaomi it's a problem to unlock them up to 25km. Unfortunately, I do not know if this is true, so I would like to make sure and if there is a way around it, I would like to ask for instructions on how to bypass / unlock it?

I didn't know what the name extension with NE means, but if they are any design corrections or equipment additions, the unlocking method is the same as in PRO2.
The fastest way is to replace the motor controller (DRV) in the platform with one with software from Pro1.

Buddy Jarroq - don't write if you don't know, your advice is HARMFUL!
Unfortunately, the approach to PRO-2, as to PRO, ends with an invariable message e27 and E35 - then often even ST-link no longer sees the controller and in no way can it be moved!
Of course, unlocking the PRO-2 is still fully possible, but it requires a bit more knowledge and experience.
To start at all, you should prepare a second dashboard, preferably the one from m365
If I remember correctly, new dashboards send a compatibility bit to the controller, if it is incorrect, it blocks the controller.
The second thing is that the drivers of the A and B series behave differently ;-)

Did Pontiko get stuck on something like that? I give advice based on my knowledge and experience.
I haven't come across any bit of compatibility so far.
I made maybe 10pcs PRO2 with my "harmful" method and they drive without a problem. And this on the latest BLE update without any BLE modification.
As the MCU in the DRV is blocked, I just replace it with a new one and program it or replace the MCU from another board "after transitions".
Error 27 on an unlocked MCU is just a piece of cake and is not a problem for me. Like BMS errors 21, 22 and 23.

You just need to have a little more knowledge and have more equipment than just ST-LINK.

Buy a display from Allegro for PLN 100.
It helped me. I was looking for a solution for half a year on how to unlock the Xiaomi Mi Pro 2 scooter. If you want to not lose the warranty, then keep the original display. If the warranty is necessary, then you change the display to the original and restore it to factory settings in the Mi Home application.

Replace the steering wheel even with xiao365 but first you need to change the softa in 365 because it will not communicate with your controller and the important thing is that you must have the controller in pro2 V3.0 above it is impossible without the programmer. I modded mine and even 4 jets went empty under load 36 -35 flies normally. That’s it and the rest is up to you what you do with this message. And those who make secrets from it count on money from those without proper knowledge. Good luck and wisdom on the path. Increase the battery capacity because it discharges 2 times faster 😀

It's all about playing with the currents... :) As long as you don't fry the engine.

Unlikely at present. For PLN 100 you can buy a blocked or clone that does not program at all because it has non-factory counterfeit soft.

the engine is not even warmer than the tires after 8km. The son of a good softa threw it and it's ok, in the pro two there is a 600watt engine so it can withstand it without any problems

600W yes, but it's not continuous power. The motor housing is much cooler than the stator. It really doesn't take much to lead to the situation as in the picture above. The current can be increased by 10-20% without any problem. However, if we increase the current by 40%, we already fry the insulation.

    Hello.
Is it possible for someone to further develop a way to unlock a scooter with a replacement handlebar? I have a pro2 scooter from 2020, which is unlocked, and I am trying to unlock the same model from 2021. I purchased the xiaoflasher program, but unfortunately the driver does not want to accept the unlocking.
From what I remember at the moment, it looks like this:
DRV: 2.4.8 BMS: 1.4.1 BLE: 1.5.7 and I cannot change the drv to a lower one.
Edit: I disassembled the platform today and unfortunately the controller is v3.1.

FAQ

TL;DR: Modders report 10 successful PRO2 unlocks; "You just need to have a little more knowledge and have more equipment than just ST-LINK." Unlocking is doable via controller or dashboard swaps, but firmware/MCU locks complicate it. [Elektroda, jarroQ, post #20107657]

Why it matters: This FAQ helps Xiaomi Mi Pro 2 owners reach 25 km/h by choosing safe, workable unlock paths.

Quick Facts

Can I unlock a Xiaomi Mi Pro 2 (2022) to 25 km/h?

Yes. Treat NE or 2022 revisions like the standard PRO2. The quickest route is replacing the motor controller (DRV) with one running Pro1 software. This mirrors the known PRO2 approach. Verify compatibility before purchasing parts or flashing. [Elektroda, jarroQ, post #20083364]

Why do I get E27/E35 after flashing, and what does it break?

E27/E35 often appear when you treat PRO2 like older PRO units. The controller can then lock, and ST‑Link may stop detecting it. Prepare a second dashboard first to avoid compatibility blocks. Note that A‑series and B‑series controllers behave differently. [Elektroda, Pontikos, post #20107588]

How do I unlock using a second dashboard (m365)?

Use this handlebar swap method:
  1. Prepare a second dashboard (e.g., m365) to avoid compatibility locks.
  2. Install it temporarily and ensure the controller handshakes correctly.
  3. Perform your changes, then restore the original dashboard if desired. [Elektroda, Pontikos, post #20107588]

Do I need a BLE mod on the latest firmware to unlock?

Not always. Some have unlocked multiple PRO2 units on the latest BLE without any BLE modification. That approach focused on controller-level work rather than BLE patches. "I made maybe 10pcs PRO2... on the latest BLE update without any BLE modification." [Elektroda, jarroQ, post #20107657]

How can I avoid warranty issues when swapping displays?

Use a spare display for unlocking and keep the original stored. If you need warranty service later, reinstall the original display and restore factory settings in the Mi Home app. This preserves the stock appearance. [Elektroda, wojcikmichal978, post #20275201]

Are PLN 100 dashboards from Allegro reliable for modding?

Be cautious. Units around PLN 100 are often blocked or clones and refuse programming. Budget for a genuine, programmable dashboard if you plan to modify firmware. Low-cost clones can stall your project. [Elektroda, jarroQ, post #20553175]

Is unlocking possible on a V3.1 controller without a programmer?

No. Above V3.0, unlocking without a hardware programmer is not possible. Consider a programmer or a compatible hardware swap if your controller is V3.1. App-only methods will not suffice here. [Elektroda, Maro6950, post #20551172]

Why did Xiaoflasher fail to downgrade DRV 2.4.8 with BLE 1.5.7?

A user with a V3.1 controller reported that Xiaoflasher did not change DRV 2.4.8, and downgrading failed. This reflects firmware and controller protections on that hardware revision. [Elektroda, mkika84, post #20734471]

Do A‑series and B‑series PRO2 controllers unlock differently?

Yes. A‑series and B‑series controllers behave differently during unlocking. Plan your approach accordingly and prepare a second dashboard to handle compatibility checks. Skipping this step can trigger lockouts. [Elektroda, Pontikos, post #20107588]

How far can I increase current safely without cooking the motor?

Keep increases conservative. "The current can be increased by 10–20% without any problem." Pushing roughly +40% risks frying the motor insulation. Monitor temperatures and avoid long sustained overloads to protect the stator. [Elektroda, jarroQ, post #20553487]

What tools do I need beyond ST‑Link?

Expect more than ST‑Link for difficult cases. If the DRV MCU blocks access, experts replace the MCU and program it or transplant one from a donor board. "You just need to have a little more knowledge and have more equipment than just ST‑LINK." [Elektroda, jarroQ, post #20107657]

Will an m365 handlebar/dashboard work plug‑and‑play on PRO2?

Not without prep. First, change the software on the m365 dashboard; otherwise it will not communicate with your PRO2 controller. Also ensure your controller is V3.0 if you aim to avoid using a programmer. [Elektroda, Maro6950, post #20551172]

How much faster will the battery drain after a power mod?

Expect noticeably higher consumption. One modder reports the battery "discharges 2 times faster" after increasing performance. Plan for capacity upgrades if you extend current limits for speed or torque. [Elektroda, Maro6950, post #20551172]

What power is the PRO2 motor, and does that help with headroom?

The PRO2 uses a 600 W motor according to user reports. One rider noted the motor stayed cooler than the tires after 8 km in their setup. Always validate thermals on your unit after any power increase. [Elektroda, Maro6950, post #20553477]

ST‑Link stopped seeing the controller after errors — what happened?

This can follow E27/E35 lockouts caused by treating the PRO2 like the older PRO. The controller may hard‑block communication afterward. Avoid this by using a compatible dashboard first to pass the handshake. [Elektroda, Pontikos, post #20107588]

How do experts recover a blocked DRV MCU?

They replace the DRV’s MCU with a new one and program it, or transplant a compatible MCU from another board. This bypasses locks that resist standard flashing and clears error states like E27. [Elektroda, jarroQ, post #20107657]
