If you connected the Sonoff to 12V with the jumper in place then it may have broken down. The jumper bypasses the built-in inverter.

The jumper was not there, but I made a cardinal mistake which I laughed at myself I used a 230v/12v transformer from which AC was coming out instead of DC. After connecting the DC, everything works as it should.

Hello,

Is the sonoff defective ?
