Dear Sirs,
In a storied house, hot water appears in the upper bathroom after about 1 min of pouring water. A circulating pump is therefore used in the boiler room, which reduces this time to a few seconds but.... having carefully measured my gas consumption (from my own LPG cylinder), I can clearly see that switching this pump on all day is reflected in the gas consumption. For now, I have dealt with this by connecting the pump via an app-controlled socket and created timed switch-on scenarios. If, for example, the children always bathe after bedtime then just set the pump on for 1 minute around 7:30pm and the issue is resolved. It works fine. However, I am wondering about automating this process as we wash our hands in cold water during the day. Does anyone know of a solution in the form of a motion sensor that would switch on the socket for e.g. 1 minute so that entering the bathroom would start the pump and switch it off after a while. After entering for a while, the pump would run, the hot water would reach the tap and then turn off and wait again for a signal from the sensor. I think this is realistic? The dream would be if another signal from the motion detector received e.g. within 20 minutes after the previous one would no longer activate the pump, but I think this would be too much and an individual programming of some kind would be needed, but at least such a simple solution as a simple switch. Has anyone encountered this?
