    Hey,

Before I wrote this thread I searched the web, including this thread -> https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/topic3849531.html and unfortunately I didn't find a solution on how to forward ports to the local network to the game server.

I have a Compal modem (Hardware version 5.01), UPC internet 150Mbps.

How to Forward Ports on UPC Connect Box with Compal Modem (Hardware v5.01) .

    Yesterday I had a change from IPv6 to IPv4.

Under "Advanced settings -> Security -> Port forwarding" I have this rule (the game server listens on port 7777 - locally you can connect):

How to Forward Ports on UPC Connect Box with Compal Modem (Hardware v5.01) .

However, from outside you cannot connect by router IP and port number. I tried with DMZ enabled on the local IP and same thing. I disabled the firewall, disabled UPNP, no change.

I called the helpline a second time (the first time to change IPv6 to IPv4) the lady answered and accepted my request that I had port 7777 blocked. After a while an email came through:

    Good afternoon,
I have received your request, which was received by telephone.
    It concerned port blocking.
At UPC we only block ports 135 to 139 and 445, there is no way we can block other ports.
I am sending instructions for port forwarding:
    1. press the Create New Rule button to add a new port forwarding rule.
    2. fill in the necessary information and then press Apply.
    3. a rule has been created. You can also delete existing rules here.

This is the rule I created earlier.

I checked the port availability from the outside:

How to Forward Ports on UPC Connect Box with Compal Modem (Hardware v5.01) .

The outsider obviously cannot connect to the game server.

Has anyone had success on a Compal modem route ports to the local network to the game server/http/ftp?

Compal's game computer/server IP, statically set?
This address: 192.168.0.10 to what hardware/who does it belong to?

I don't know what could be using port 7777, since I haven't announced to anyone that I'm putting a game server there. Besides, if someone is already using it (someone would connect to the game) then the port should not be closed.

For example, I checked for example port 80 at my place - closed:
How to Forward Ports on UPC Connect Box with Compal Modem (Hardware v5.01) .

Port 80 on onet is open:
How to Forward Ports on UPC Connect Box with Compal Modem (Hardware v5.01) .
And on onet this port is used non-stop.

192.168.0.10 is the address of the computer on the local network where I run the game server.
In the "DHCP -> Reserved list" settings, I have set this address 192.168.0.10 to be reserved for the MAC address of the network card of the computer where the game is running.

    .
Then how is this person supposed to connect to the game server?
In addition, on the UPC the IP address is external but dynamic - change the IP address and again no one will connect to the game server.

    Check the ports here:

For a port to be open, something/someone has to be using it!
But I then asked an outsider and they couldn't connect to my game server by entering the IP address of the router and port 7777

Additionally, on the UPC the IP address is external but dynamic - change the IP address and again no one will connect to the game server.
It's not a problem, because I can always provide an IP number, or use a DDNS service.

Here check the ports: https://yuip.org/pl/port-check .
I have checked and it is the same:
How to Forward Ports on UPC Connect Box with Compal Modem (Hardware v5.01) .

Or do you have a Compal modem on UPC and port forwarding is working for you?

It is not the IP address of the router that this person is supposed to type in.
Only the IP address you have been assigned by the UPC.

I can find the public address I have assigned by the UPC at https://www.whatsmyip.org/ and it is the same address as the "router IP address". I don't know if we are talking about the same thing?

What is the server running on? Windows? Maybe there is a system firewall on this computer that blocks what comes in from the non-LAN network.

I'm putting the server on Windows 10 - yesterday I put Apache (http server) on port 80 on the local network and I can get from outside to this server on the local network.

I put up a game server that listens on port 7778 (game server log):
ScriptLog: Udp ServerQuery(crt): Port 7778 successfully bound. .

    Current port forwarding:
How to Forward Ports on UPC Connect Box with Compal Modem (Hardware v5.01) .

In the Windows 10 system firewall configuration, there is a rule enabled for incoming connections to this server (to applications) for TCP and UDP on all ports - I will check again this afternoon to see if anyone can connect to this game server.

It works - once UDP port forwarding is correctly configured, you can connect to the game server on your local network.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the challenges of port forwarding on a UPC Connect Box using a Compal modem (Hardware v5.01) for a game server. The user is unable to connect externally to the server listening on port 7777 despite configuring port forwarding and checking firewall settings. Responses highlight the importance of ensuring that the correct public IP address is used for external connections and suggest verifying that the server is actively using the port. The user later confirms successful connection after correctly configuring UDP port forwarding.
