    Good morning,
I need to use two public IPv4 addresses. One for "normal traffic", the other for the server.
I am currently achieving this effect using Vectra. More than 1 device (I don't know if more than 2) can be connected to the modem in bridge mode. The effect is that each 2 connected devices receives public IPv4.
Does anyone, dear forum member, know if I can also use this solution if I change my operator to UPC? After switching the modem to bridge mode, does UPC allow/assign only one public IPv4?
Thank you in advance for the information. ;-)

It assigns two IPs, but currently UPC is play and does not sell UPC offers, the equipment from playa is different, the network itself may also be different for new customers
Helpful post? Buy me a coffee.

Exactly, and what`s more, the bridge mode in UPC was only available in DOCSIS.
It is not known whether the new Play DOCSIS modem router has a bridge mode, no one has boasted about it yet.
The information materials do not mention anything about this functionality.

Interestingly, in PLAY DOCSIS, there is no public IP address :D
Those who still have a contract with UPC, these people have a guaranteed public dynamic IP - unfortunately, no one knows at this point what Play will do after the complete liquidation of UPC, after the old contracts expire.
The question whether Play will maintain such contracts on an indefinite basis and the public IP will still remain remains unanswered at the moment.
But since there is information on the Play website about variable PRIVATE IP, this would mean that over time they will move all customers to this address.
Not to mention that all the equipment used as UPC modemouters will be thrown into the trash - the provisioning created for Play does not work with the equipment of the liquidated UPC Polska.

We already know something - in the Play BOX NET modem router in the HFC version, there is NO bridge mode.
Apparently work on the bridge mode is ongoing.
So it should be read: yes, no, maybe, and who needs it :D

I did "empirical research" at UPC. Connect Box modem (Compal) - in bridge mode, DOCSIS 3.0 - allocated only one public IPv4. The device plugged into a different (second) port was ignored. After resets too.

For me, it assigns two addresses without any problems, and is TV also included in the package?

Where I tested UPC - yes. Net, TV and landline.

    Another address to the phone/TV.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the use of public IPv4 addresses when switching to UPC while utilizing a modem in bridge mode. Users report mixed experiences with UPC's allocation of public IPs. Some indicate that UPC assigns only one public IPv4 address in bridge mode, particularly with the Connect Box modem (Compal) using DOCSIS 3.0. Others claim they have successfully received two public IPs. There is uncertainty regarding the future of public IP assignments under UPC's transition to Play, with concerns about the potential shift to private IP addresses. The availability of bridge mode in new Play DOCSIS modems remains unclear, with ongoing discussions about its implementation.
