    Hi!
About a year ago the dishwasher started to crash in some programs and showed error 2. Then we switched to other program and it worked fine for couple of months, then started to show error 2 again. Lately it started to show error 15 or error 2.
When the error occurs, then always the same sound will occur.
    Here is the video:

I have looked up error 15 and bought new circulation pump. Now I still get error 2 and the same situation happens as in the video.
How can I resolve error 2?
    Looking forward for some help!

Does it drain properly or are the relays just clicking?

    Hi!
    Thank you for the reply!
It drains great! It completes about 95% of the cycle, the error occurs at the very end of the cycle. Also, sometimes it may finish the whole cycle couple of times in a row, but then the next day fail before finishing the cycle and shows error 2. So it's a lottery if the cycles finish or not.
I have replaced the circulation pump and also cleaned the drain pump.
Machine is about 5 years old.
Couple of first years I used programs 1 and 2. Then the error 2 started to occur.
Then I switched to program 4 it worked great couple of years, then the error 2 started to occur sometimes with program 4 also. If the program 4 failed, then I switched to program 6 to rinse out the plates to be sure. It worked great for some time, then I also started to get error 2 with that program.
Error 15 first occurred about 2 weeks ago (error 2 has been a problem for years and), as I found out what error 15 is, then I replaced the circulation pump.

Here is my cycle history after replacing circulation pump.
    1) Program 2, worked great about 95% of the full cycle (machine worked about 2 hours), then error 2 occurred.
    2) Switched to program 6, worked great about 95% of the full cycle, then error 2 occurred.
    3) Started machine with program 4, finished 100% of the cycle without errors
    4) Started machine with program 4, finished 100% of the cycle without errors

To conclude, the situation at the moment is the following, machines run to error 100% of times when using program 1 and 2 (Eco and 6th sense) machine may end the cycle or occur error when using other programs.

Hope that helps to clear up some things and hopefully there is a solution to the issue as I hoped the pricey circulation pump fixes the whole issue.

    Got an update.
Ran two cycles today and got some bad news.
    1) Ran cycle 4 and ran into error 15 at the same point as I usually get error 2 at almost the end of the cycle.
    2) Ran cycle 6 and ran into error 15 at the same point as I usually get error 2 at almost the end of the cycle.

So now I am completely out of ideas as I bought a brand new circulation pump and still get error 2 and 15.

The drain pump is running and error 2 on the display indicates a leak. Error 15 is still the circulation pump. Bought new or refurbished?

For past week I have got error 15 or 2 two every time is use the dishwasher, no matter what program is choose.

Do you suggest that the new circulation pump is also faulty?

Where should I search for the leak that causes error 2?

    Hi Raunotroost,

Did you get an answer to error 2?

It was said above that error 2 is a leak. I got error 1 from a leak..

    Hi!
Unfortunately I didn't get any further help and after changing the circulation pump I still got error 2 and 15, so I just bought a new dishwasher.
Old one was 5 years old, so it seems to be a good run with Whirlpool.

Damn.. 4 or 5 years is nowhere near long for a lifespan of an appliance. Manufacturers should be made to give out tech documents once the warranty period has lapsed.

My new wash-pump has arrived so I will fit it & see what's what. I almost ordered a drain pump & heater but decided to be thrifty (the pump impeller damaged the pump housing everso slightly & the heater is fixed to the heater)..

    Thanks for your quick response.

    Good luck to you!
The guy who drives around and collects old household appliances for recycling told me that the good age for Whirlpool dishwashers is 3 years nowadays, I got lucky with 5. A bit sad to hear after I purchased a brand new Whirlpool :D

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around troubleshooting a Whirlpool WIC 3C26 PF dishwasher that consistently displays ERROR 2 after the user replaced the circulation pump. Initially, the dishwasher exhibited ERROR 2 intermittently, which escalated to ERROR 15. The user confirmed that the dishwasher drains properly and that the errors occur towards the end of the cycle. Despite replacing the circulation pump with a new one, the errors persisted, leading to speculation about potential leaks causing ERROR 2. Other participants noted that ERROR 2 typically indicates a leak, while ERROR 15 relates to the circulation pump. Ultimately, the user decided to purchase a new dishwasher after failing to resolve the issues with the existing unit, which had a lifespan of about five years.
