I hope this question isn't cosmically stupid: I have a BTicino SCS system in my house and I need to move a box by just under 10m, which involves the need to 'add' 10m of cable. The system is based on a two-wire cable, which looks like it could be replaced with anything, but.... the original cable costs terrible money and is only available in spools of 100 m (https://www.legrand.pl/pl/e-katalog/produkty/my-home-kabel-bus-scs-100m-l4669). Do I really need to use the official cable, or is one pair of UTP twisted pair cable (which is 3x cheaper, probably has better performance and on top of that I have some leftovers of it at home) enough?
AI: What exactly are the devices connected to this SCS bus that will use this extension? .
The whole system at my place consists of a control panel, a server for management, about 20 buttons and switches for the light.
AI: Is this SCS bus in your case only for communication between devices or also for powering them? .
As far as I can see, the power supply (27 V) also goes on the bus.
