Xiaomi L55L5-5ASP TV: No Image, VGL/VGH Missing Unless Panel Side Disconnected, Firmware Query

TV XIAOMI MODEL: L55L5-5ASP.


The TV has no image. I measured the VGL, VGH, and VIN voltages, and only VIN gives a reading. When I disconnect one side of the panel from the T-CON board (the right side which has a memory chip), and measure again, all voltages (VGL, VGH, VIN) are present and correct. The image appears on one side (the menu is displayed), while the other side shows only a plain white screen. Is it possible that the memory chip lost its data? And if so, is the firmware available?

On the side where you have an image it is ok, but on the opposite side where there is no image you have a shorted matrix. You can try to heal this matrix by blocking the shorted signals.

There is a lot of advice on the web on how to do this, don't cut the tape just tape the pins. You will have to work out for yourself which pins to tape.
