hello ,
i recently was asked by a high school teacher to look at a pasco SE-7981/SE-7985 GM detector made by LabNet .
it is hard to find any real information about the unit .
the on-board count/activity led is toast , but the g/m tube/HV is still good (proved by placing an AM radio near the unit and exposing it to an americium source) .
repairing the led and quite possibly (what i take to be) the buffer/scaling circuit is pretty straight forward .
this leaves the interface software/program (yep , the original big floppy is in the kit) , it was written for the apple II series (did i mention that the unit was old ?) . the interface adapters are present .
does anyone know of/where to get a schematic for the unit and "modern" software (say XP or ubuntu/linux) ?
any help is greatly appreciated .
